The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Lonov scores with a crisp jab that stopped Johns in his tracks.

Johns shoots in and gets a takedown into half guard. Johns showed some decent athleticism there.
Lonov has been talking about how he's improved his wrestling in the run up to the fight so let's see if that's enough to sway the balance.
Lonov is trying to control but can't.
Johns content to control rather than advance.

Johns is looking for an arm triangle, whilst trying to pass to side control. Lonov doesn't seem that keen to cooperate though. No luck this time Johns.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Johns is thinking about going for an arm triangle but he can't free his leg.

Johns is working hard to pass the guard. He's done it - he's now in full mount! Trouble for Lonov!

Lonov on his back here. We all know that wrestlers don't like being on their back so let's see if Lonov tries to get out of the position.
Johns's corner are shouting for him to control the position and he seems happy to oblige.
Johns fails to advance to Lonov's back.

Johns looks like he's working for a submission but he's not found anything just yet.

Johns wants to take his opponent's back but Lonov doesn't allow it.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Johns is dominating on the ground here - he's now on his opponent's back, looking to sink in the hooks. Lonov is in real trouble.

Johns is cranking Lonov's head sideways - that looks painful. He's managed to get his other arm under the chin and this looks bad for Lonov! He's tightened the choke and Lonov is tapping out!
