Coming up we have a super heavyweight MMA rules bout between Full Time Panda (ranked 724 p4p, 33 weight class) and Keone Kapisi (ranked 1127 p4p, 51 weight class). The fight MMA fans around the world have waited their entire lives for!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the super heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 11 - 6 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Full Time Panda!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 6 - 7 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Keone Kapisi!
The judges for this bout are Richard Clark, Daniel Bishop and Colin Fotheringham.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Panda scores with a nice takedown into half guard. Let's see what he's got on the ground.
Kapisi tries to kick Panda off but Panda keeps his base steady and stays in half guard.
Kapisi blocking the ground and pound attempt from Panda.
Kapisi is trying to stand up here but Panda is controlling him well.
Kapisi keeping his head moving to avoid the ground and pound.
Panda sitting in half guard, looking to land shots. Kapisi defending well though.

Kapisi manages to escape and get back to his feet!
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Kapisi looks to land a right hand but Panda moved out of range.
Panda misses with a wild body shot.
Kapisi keeps the fight standing with a nice sprawl.

Panda gets tackled into the cage by Kapisi. Kapisi maintains the clinch.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Panda can't get the takedown.
Kapisi gets underhooks to prevent Panda's takedown attempt.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Full Time Panda. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Kapisi lands with a short punch from the clinch.
Kapisi fails to land with a short punch on the inside.
Panda can't get the takedown.
I was talking to Panda's coach per-fight and he was telling me that they'd been working on the clinch in the runup to this fight.
Kapisi lands an elbow inside that Panda shrugs off.


It looks like Full Time Panda has been cut.
Panda changes levels and goes for a takedown here. Kapisi fights it off and pushes away nicely.
Kapisi slips under a jab.
Panda tries to land with a swinging hook to the body but Kapisi was well out of range. Poor timing from Panda.

Panda gets tackled into the cage by Kapisi. Kapisi maintains the clinch.
Kapisi tries to throw a body punch but Panda avoids it by throwing Kapisi back against the cage.
Panda has a body lock and is looking for a takedown. Kapisi is bouncing around trying to prevent the takedown and somehow he has indeed managed to stay on his feet.
Panda is working for a takedown up against the cage. He can't get it on this occasion though.
Kapisi lands with a short punch from the clinch.
Kapisi lands an uppercut.
Panda wants a takedown.

Panda escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.
Panda misses with a looping right.
Kapisi tries to clinch up but Panda circles away and keeps his distance.
Panda scores with a sloppy punch to the body. Not much technique there but it did the business.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!

A momentary lapse in concentration from Kapisi enables Panda to shoot in and score with a neat double leg. Kapisi manages to secure a closed guard as the fighters hit the mat.
We could do with one of the fighters taking the initiative a bit more on the ground - they're both waiting to capitalize on a mistake.

That's two minutes gone in the round.

Kapisi pushes Panda off and gets back to his feet.
Kapisi tries to clinch up against the cage, rushing in to close the distance. Panda manages to break the clinch and circles back to the middle of the mat.
Panda feinted with a counter takedown.

Kapisi drops Panda with a hook right on the temple. He thinks about going to the ground but Panda looks back up at him and smiles so Kapisi waves him back to his feet - he obviously thinks he can knock him out after that shot landed.


Panda is rocked!
Panda gets tagged by a hook that puts him to sleep! Kapisi points and yells something to his unconcious foe before strutting off. Panda wakes up just in time to hear Kapisi thank his coaches in the post fight interview.

Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:19 of round 1, we have a winner by way of KO (Punch). Keone Kapisi!
Keone Kapisi gave a mention to Dark Knight Nutrition in his post fight interview. That will please them (and hopefully generate some sales).
