Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Jason Clarkson!
The judges for this bout are Frank Antenori, and Don Winkell.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Buckley misses with a body kick.
Clarkson is trying to avoid his opponent's strikes and get into the clinch.

Buckley darts in and lands a nice takedown into half guard.

Buckley seems content to maintain position for now, rather than mounting any offense.
Buckley could do with losing a few pounds - he looks very soft around the mid section, to put it politely.

Buckley stands up from half guard... He's had enough of that ground malarky for the time being.
Buckley fails with a rather predictable takedown attempt.
A telegraphed takedown attempt from Buckley is defended easily by Clarkson.

Clarkson closes the distance, clinches up and gets a nice trip takedown into side control. Very smooth.

Buckley is positioning himself to get back to half guard.
Buckley is not content to let Clarkson control the position.

A close round but Jason Clarkson will probably get the nod.
The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business.


Clarkson throws a leg kick
and Buckley counters with a head kick. That will keep Clarkson thinking before he tries any more sloppy attacks!

Clarkson closes the distance and gets a double leg, slamming Buckley to the mat! Buckley manages to get full guard.

Buckley escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Clarkson gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Clarkson is breathing heavily.

Buckley is looking for a guillotine. You can't force these things though and Clarkson defends well.

Buckley throws his legs up looking to secure a triangle. Oh, that looks pretty tight, I gotta say! Clarkson escapes and throws Buckley's legs to the side, diving into side control!

Buckley manages to land a sweep and he's now on top! Lovely Jiu Jitsu!

Clarkson has managed to escape just enough to sneak back to his feet but Buckley is on him like a limpet, forcing Clarkson back against the cage.

Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

A lull in the action here being met with boos from the crowd.
It looks like the ref is thinking about a standup.

Buckley tries to pull guard but Clarkson won't allow it.
Buckley blocks a punch to the side of the head.
Buckley stalling here - the referee won't stand for too much of that.

Buckley jumps guard but Clarkson stands there with Buckley around his waist. Buckley gives up and drops back to his feet. We remain in the clinch.

Jason Clarkson showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
That's the end of the round. The referee orders the cornermen out of the cage so we can get back down to business. This is the final round!

Buckley stands up and waves to Clarkson to follow him.

Clarkson feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position.

Buckley seems to have a rather negative gameplan on the ground. He seems keen to just score the takedown and hold down Clarkson for as long as he can get away with.
Buckley has to be careful here, sitting in the guard of a superior BJJ player.

Well Clarkson has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
