Coming up we have a lightweight Tycoon World Grappling Championship rules bout between Conor McGregor Jr (ranked 6326 p4p, 0 weight class) and Rob Gross (ranked 1392 p4p, 165 weight class). The crowd giving both fighters a great reception on their way into the arena. That's good to see.

In the red corner, competing out of Las Vegas, with a TWGC record of 0 wins and 0 losses; Conor McGregor Jr ! And in the blue corner, fighting out of New York, with a TWGC record of 0 wins and 0 losses; Rob Gross!
The judges for this bout are Frank Antenori, Jack Bonds and Timothy Bukovac.


The fighters bow as they face eachother in the middle of the mat and we are under way.

McGregor Jr forces Gross back against the cage and clinches.
McGregor Jr jumps guard but Gross stands there with McGregor Jr around his waist. McGregor Jr gives up and drops back to his feet. We remain in the clinch.
McGregor Jr tries to take the fight to the ground by pulling guard but can't manage it.

McGregor Jr isolates an arm and boxes in a triangle. Gross stacks McGregor Jr on his neck as he steps over and passes to the side. He's now in a much more dominant position where he can look to do some serious damage. Nice move by Gross!

Gross has hold of McGregor Jr 's left arm, perhaps looking for a submission. The two fighters tussle over control of the isolated limb and McGregor Jr manages to get his arm back to his side and away from danger.

In the pre-fight buildup videos we saw Gross working his ground and pound in the gym. He isn't landing a great percentage of his ground strikes so far though.

We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Gross can do anything to dispel that myth.

McGregor Jr working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Gross doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Gross manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem.

As we have tied on points, we go to a tie breaker and McGregor Jr gets a bonus point for attempting more subs.

After the fight, Conor McGregor Jr was humble in paying tribute to his opponent but made it clear he wants to go on to bigger and better things. It seemed to go down well with the crowd who cheered him loudly.
