Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Sasa Drobac (ranked 4714 p4p, 0 weight class) and Kevin Watson Sr (ranked 4069 p4p, 0 weight class). Well, the cameraman is lingering on a pretty young lady for a bit too long there. Keep your eyes on the prize buddy or you'll miss the fighter intros!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of The Island, Sasa Drobac!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 3 - 4 - 0, fighting out of The Island, Kevin Watson Sr!
The judges for this bout are Dirk Anderson, Santiago Holmes and David Hoff.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Watson Sr darts in looking for a takedown but Drobac gets double underhooks and turns Watson Sr into the cage.
Drobac is looking to clinch.
No luck for Watson Sr with that takedown attempt.
As Watson Sr tries to get set, Drobac tries to push him back and clinch up but Watson Sr manages to avoid the attempt.
Drobac shoots in looking for a takedown but Watson Sr manages to keep the fight standing, pushing Drobac's face into the canvas for good measure before circling away.

Watson Sr fakes with an overhand right and moves in to clinch with Drobac, pushing him back against the cage.
Watson Sr pushes off and fires off an elbow that misses, before clinching up again, against the cage.
Drobac jumps guard but his hands slip and he falls flat on his back. Well, he's made himself look a right mug there, as Watson Sr walks away with a smile on his face. Drobac gets slowly back to his feet and shakes his head.
Drobac throws a combination but comes up with nothing but fresh air.
Watson Sr throws a counter combo.

Drobac decides to change it up a bit and drives through with a nice takedown into half guard.
Watson Sr is controlling Drobac's position as best he can from this difficult position.

Watson Sr is looking to sinch up a guillotine here but Drobac pulls his head out easily.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Watson Sr pushes Drobac off looking to stand but Drobac dives back in and keeps control.
Watson Sr is pressing down on Drobac's left leg trying to get back to full guard. He's managed it.
Drobac in full guard, throwing the ground and pound. No damage this time.
Watson Sr is avoiding any damage by keeping wrist control.
Drobac loading up with the ground and pound but he's missing more than he's landing in this flurry.

Drobac gets to his feet and steps away from his opponent.

The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so.
Watson Sr shoots in looking for a takedown. Drobac tries to sprawl out of it but Watson Sr keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Drobac manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing.
Drobac throws a counter high kick but Watson Sr was just alert enough to avoid it.
Sasa Drobac has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Kevin Watson Sr.

Drobac closes the distance and scores a nice trip takedown into half guard. Watson Sr did well to prevent Drobac getting side control.

Watson Sr has managed to escape just enough to sneak back to his feet but Drobac is on him like a limpet, forcing Watson Sr back against the cage.
Watson Sr wants to break the clinch but can't.
Drobac is working on a leg, looking for a takedown but Watson Sr is defending well.
Drobac jumps guard but his hands slip and he falls flat on his back. Well, he's made himself look a right mug there, as Watson Sr walks away with a smile on his face. Drobac gets slowly back to his feet and shakes his head.

Watson Sr drives through and clinches with Drobac against the cage.

Drobac has hold of one of Watson Sr's legs. Watson Sr is fighting the takedown attempt but Drobac gets the trip and lands the takedown into guard.

Watson Sr is pulling down on Drobac's head. It's preventing any offense from Drobac, at least for the moment.

Watson Sr is working actively off his back, looking to secure an arm or perhaps work for a triangle.

My god... these two guys really need to pick up the pace or everyone will leave to go get a beer.

Drobac stands up from guard. Let's bang!

Drobac drives through with a takedown into Watson Sr's guard. Let's see what he can do from the top position.

Watson Sr had isolated an arm as going for a kimura. Drobac defends it easily.

Watson Sr looking for submissions from the bottom but instead Drobac passes into side control.

That was a close round but I would say that Sasa Drobac will probably get the nod.
The minute break is over - no more time for sponges and pep talks - back to the action!

Watson Sr shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Drobac pinned against the cage. Drobac gets the underhooks and manages to circle away.
Watson Sr takes a head kick and shrugs it off.


It looks like Kevin Watson Sr has been cut.
Watson Sr tries to drive through with a takedown attempt but Drobac defends well and Watson Sr ends up having to push Drobac into the cage where they will battle it out in the clinch.

We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Drobac escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.

Drobac jumps guard but Watson Sr stands there with Drobac around his waist. Drobac gives up and drops back to his feet. We remain in the clinch.

Watson Sr looks frustrated there after his takedown attempt is stuffed easily.
Watson Sr shoots for a double leg takedown but Drobac sprawls well. He's pushed Watson Sr's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily.

Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

Watson Sr is working an open guard so Drobac takes the opportunity to get back to his feet.

Drobac bobs and weaves into range and then changes levels and scores with a nice takedown into side control.
Watson Sr is looking to get back to his feet here but Drobac is keeping cool and he's managed to take Watson Sr's back.
Drobac lands a couple of good shots to his opponent's body and a final shot to the head. Good little attack there by Drobac.

Drobac would like to get this fight back to the feet but can't get free from the closed guard.
Drobac has to be careful here, sitting in the guard of a superior BJJ player.
Watson Sr is doing well to control the posture of his opponent and prevent any damage.

Sasa Drobac overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far.

Drobac drops back, looking for a kneebar! Watson Sr looks panicked! The fighters roll across the mat, one looking to finish, one looking to escape. Watson Sr looks to have wriggled free... Yes, he's got his leg free and he's dived into side control! Good work there from Watson Sr!

That was a close second round but I would say that Sasa Drobac will probably get the nod.

Drobac is pressed up against the cage. Watson Sr has hold of a leg and is looking to drag Drobac down to the mat. Drobac avoids the attempt though and has circled away. We're back to striking at a distance.

The fight stays on the outside here - Drobac looks like he's thinking about clinching though.

Watson Sr shoots in for a takedown. He's persisting with it as Drobac sprawls well. Drobac wins this battle and keeps the fight standing. Watson Sr gets slowly back to his feet.
Watson Sr takes a big intake of breath there - he's definitely tired.

Drobac goes for a takedown attempt but Watson Sr pushes him away and we're back to fighting at a distance.
Drobac doesn't succeed with the takedown

and Watson Sr counters by clinching up.
Watson Sr scores with a nice hook to the head.

Watson Sr drags the fight down to the ground.
Drobac looking to sit in guard and control but Watson Sr gets the butterfly guard and sweeps. He's now in the guard on the top.

There's a bit of a scramble here and now Drobac is on top in guard.

Sasa Drobac is fighting for a decision here - he's started to take the cautious approach.

Drobac avoids a guillotine attempt easily.

Kevin Watson Sr comfortably won the final round on my scorecard.
I think Drobac has won this one but let's see what the judges have to say. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
