PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a super heavyweight MMA rules bout between Ray Vision (ranked 3619 p4p, 126 weight class) and Vitaly Lebedev (ranked 4381 p4p, 149 weight class). Both these guys have really solid chins. Will we see a standup war or will they both decide that a knockout is unlikely and try to win the fight elsewhere?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the super heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 6 - 5 - 1, fighting out of New York, Ray Vision!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 5 - 4 - 0, fighting out of London, Vitaly Lebedev!
The judges for this bout are Donatello Bradman, Summer Carpenter and Winston Howard.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Vision throws a wild body kick that Lebedev sees coming a mile off.
Vision looks to score with a combo but nothing lands.
Vision tries a switch kick but it misses it's target.
Lebedev tries a counter takedown but it's more of a dummy move, and he uses it to push himself away.
Vision has been working on his boxing with his coaches at Touch Of Death Combat Academy in the buildup to the fight.
Vision throws a poor cross that misses

and Lebedev counters with a nice double leg into side control. Vision won't be happy with that.

Lebedev wants to work for a kimura but he's foiled early by Vision, who protects the arm well.

There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Lebedev drops back looking for a heel hook - he quickly realises he's not going to get it but Vision manages to dive on top of him before he can escape and now Lebedev has Vision in his guard.

Lebedev really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Vision. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Vision is looking for a guillotine. You can't force these things though and Lebedev defends well.

Lebedev throws out a loose jab but Vision uses good head movement to avoid it.
Vision is really dominating this fight. Is there anything that Lebedev can do to turn this around?

Lebedev gets tackled into the cage by Vision. Vision maintains the clinch.
Vision has dropped down and is looking to force the takedown but it's defended by Lebedev after a bit of a struggle.
Lebedev is pressed up against the cage. Vision has hold of a leg and is looking to drag Lebedev down to the mat. Lebedev avoids the attempt though and has circled away. We're back to striking at a distance.

Lebedev has hold of a leg and is looking for a trip takedown. Vision avoids it nicely though and we remain in the clinch.

Vision has managed to pull guard. Let's see whether he can work an aggressive guard. It will also be interesting to see what tactics Lebedev uses from the top position.

Vision is looking for a sweep. Lebedev is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position.

Vision is working actively off his back, looking to secure an arm or perhaps work for a triangle.

Lebedev got a little sloppy there for a moment and Vision has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Lebedev has managed to get both his arms back between Vision's legs - danger averted.
Ray Vision is fighting for a decision here - he's started to take the cautious approach.

The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.

Well Vision has outscored his opponent in every aspect of the fight today. Only a scarily incompetent judge or two will keep him from a well deserved win... Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
