The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Hughes lands a right hook to the body.
Brown misses with a left hand
and Hughes cracks him with a counter punch right on the button.
Brown throws a right hand that misses
and Hughes counters with a right hand to the body.
A slow jab from Hughes misses its intended target.
Hughes moves out of range as Brown strikes.
Brown looks to land a right hand but Hughes moved out of range.
Hughes looked like he wanted to counter with a punch but didn't throw it.
Hughes has been working on his striking defense in training and it's paying off as Brown is landing a low percentage of strikes.
Brown tries to clinch up against the cage, rushing in to close the distance. Hughes manages to break the clinch and circles back to the middle of the mat.
Brown misses with a takedown attempt
and Hughes counters with a stiff right hand.
Brown just misses with a punch to the body.

Brown has closed the distance and engaged Hughes in a clinch.
Brown is working for takedown but Hughes is calmly controlling the position for now.

Hughes is defending well against a takedown attempt.

and Hughes counters with a huge left! Brown is in big trouble! He's backing up but Hughes isn't giving him chance to recover. Under a barage of punches the ref has to step in to save Brown from any more damage. A dominating finish by Hughes!
