The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Donovan ducks under a wild hook from Hopkins.

Donovan drives through with a takedown into guard.

Hopkins kicks Donovan off and gets to his feet.
Donovan connects with a lovely jab that went straight through the gap between Hopkins's hands.
Hopkins scores with a sloppy punch to the body. Not much technique there but it did the business.
Donovan falls off balance throwing a combination
and Hopkins connects with a straight left hand counter down the middle.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.
Donovan uses good footwork to avoid the strikes from Hopkins.
Donovan takes a big uppercut there. He seems a bit wobbly but no, he's OK.
Hopkins slips under a jab.
Hopkins throwing a counter right hand but Donovan manages to avoid it.
Donovan throws a right hand that Hopkins ducks under and follows up with a left that Hopkins also avoids with ease.
Hopkins moves away from the strike by Donovan.

A left and a right from Donovan both land. Nice combination.
Donovan has his takedown stuffed
and Hopkins counters with a nice body shot.
Donovan tries to drive through with a takedown attempt but Hopkins defends well and Donovan ends up having to push Hopkins into the cage where they will battle it out in the clinch.

and Hopkins cracks him with a counter punch right on the button.

and Hopkins counters with a stiff right hand.
Hopkins staying out of range there.
An attempted straight right counter from Hopkins misses the target.
Hopkins drops Donovan with a straight left! Oh this is bad for Donovan! Hopkins dives in and starts dropping bombs - the referee has no choice but to step in and save him!
