Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Mohhamad Iman (ranked 2898 p4p, 290 weight class) and Fedor Mazepin (ranked 2181 p4p, 231 weight class). Fedor Mazepin will no doubt be looking to use his reach advantage to good effect.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 7 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Mohhamad Iman!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 8 - 4 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Fedor Mazepin!
The judges for this bout are Jack Bonds, Timothy Bukovac and Don Winkell.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Mazepin is looking to clinch.
Iman misses with a looping left.
Fedor Mazepin seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Mazepin doesn't manage to clinch there - Iman circles away.

Mazepin moves into the clinch.
Mazepin has dropped down and is looking to force the takedown but it's defended by Iman after a bit of a struggle.
Mazepin changes levels and goes for a takedown here. Iman fights it off and pushes away nicely.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Iman keeps the fight on the outside.
Horrible takedown attempt by Mazepin or perhaps it was just good defense by Iman, which made it look bad.
Mohhamad Iman has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Fedor Mazepin.

Mazepin closes the distance and clinches.

Iman pulls guard successfully.
Mazepin throwing shots from guard but he's hitting more mat than opponent.
Iman on his back here. We all know that wrestlers don't like being on their back so let's see if Iman tries to get out of the position.

Mazepin drops back looking for a leg! Iman is in trouble here! The fighters roll with the hold and Iman manages to kick Mazepin off! Mazepin jumps back into Iman's guard.
Mazepin trying to stand up but can't free himself from Iman's guard.
Iman has control of Mazepin's left arm, preventing Mazepin from doing any damage.

Mazepin thinks about going for a leg but decides against it, in order to maintain the position.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Iman is adopting a defensive guard.
Mazepin stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Iman swivels though and keeps the full guard.
Iman keeping moving, preventing Mazepin from controlling successfully.

Mazepin is trying to work a guillotine from the top, or something like that? Don't know how he thinks he's going to get a finish from there.
Mazepin won't allow Iman to sweep him here.
Mazepin is in close to Iman's body, working some short punches and elbows.
Mazepin won't allow Iman to get back to his feet.
Mazepin controls the pace of the fight for a moment.
Iman is working from a closed guard but he's struggling to control his opponent.
Mazepin scores with a decent looking elbow strike.

Mazepin drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and Mazepin jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position.

Mazepin passes Iman's right leg, so he's now in half guard.
Mazepin content to control rather than advance.

Mazepin seems to be working for a kimura but Iman defends the submission attempt.
The fighters are going at a pretty good pace and they're both starting to sweat now.
Mazepin scoring with strikes to the body and head.

Iman is defending against the submission attempts here by Mazepin.
Iman tries to roll over but Mazepin keeps him under control.

Mazepin is trying for a guillotine from the top but the pressure isn't in the right place so Iman is just riding it out for now. Mazepin eventually gives up the hold.

Mazepin has hold of the far side arm. He's working for the Kimura, can Iman defend it? Mazepin steps over the head and cranks it - Iman is tapping out! That was textbook stuff right there - nice submission victory for Mazepin!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 4:23 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (Kimura). Fedor Mazepin!
