The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Vinicius misses with a low kick.
Nicko fakes a strike and closes the distance, dragging Vinicius to the ground. Nicko is now in Vinicius's guard.
Nicko chips away with some ground and pound.
Vinicius looking for submissions from the bottom here. Moving his hips around, possibly looking for an armbar.
Nicko stands up over Vinicius, holding his feet. He dives back in and lands a decent shot to the head.

Vinicius lands a beautiful sweep and he's now moved into his opponent's guard.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
