Coming up we have a welterweight Tycoon World Grappling Championship rules bout between Khalid Mamedov (ranked 1602 p4p, 216 weight class) and Quinoa Smiff (ranked 17263 p4p, 644 weight class). Mamedov comes to the ring accompanied by Shamhan Daldaev - Eto Kavkaz. Both fighters look pumped up here. Let's hope this is a good fight!

This TWGC bout is 1 fifteen minute round in the welterweight division. Introducing today's competitors. In the red corner, competing out of Las Vegas, with a TWGC record of 0 wins and 0 losses; Khalid Mamedov! And in the blue corner, fighting out of Amsterdam, with a TWGC record of 0 wins and 3 losses; Quinoa Smiff!
The judges for this bout are Percy O'Donnell, Frank Antenori and Timothy Bukovac.


The official calls the fighters to the middle and the contest is under way.

Smiff drives through and clinches with Mamedov against the ropes.

Mamedov has managed to pull guard. Let's see whether he can work an aggressive guard. It will also be interesting to see what tactics Smiff uses from the top position.
Smiff must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu.

Mamedov stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Smiff swivels though and keeps the full guard.

We've been hearing good reports from Mamedov's training camp. Apparently he has been rolling around with some good quality BJJ practitioners and has been sharpening his skills. Let's see if that has an impact on the fight today.
Mamedov sneaks a leg through and gets to half guard. That was like a knife through butter how easily he passed Smiff's guard.

Smiff sneaks a leg back under and regains half guard and is working straight away to try and get back to guard. He hasn't managed just yet though.
Well, if Mamedov is going to just lie there, perhaps we should talk about what we're having for dinner tonight… I'm having a ham and pineapple pizza… Yum. Can't wait.

The fighters are trapped in the ropes so we're going to have a reposition here. The ref calls for a break and repositions the fighters in the center of the ring.

Mamedov is persistently looking for the submission but Smiff is defending it well.

Mamedov is looking for the choke from the back position but Smiff is controlling his hands well.
Smiff is keeping busy.

Mamedov is looking to finish the fight by rear naked choke. Smiff knows exactly what he's got planned though, so he's defending well. Maybe a few strikes would soften Smiff for a finish.
You know, I was talking to some of our celebrities at ringside tonight and they were split right down the middle on who was going to win this fight.

Mamedov is cranking Smiff's head sideways - that looks painful. He's managed to get his other arm under the chin and this looks bad for Smiff! He's tightened the choke and Smiff is tapping out!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 5:55 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (RNC). Khalid Mamedov!
Khalid Mamedov decided to go for the less than humble approach in his post fight interview, telling everyone how he is going to conquer the world. The crowd seemed to like it when really that sort of approach could have gone either way.
In defeat, Quinoa Smiff stepped up to the mic, saying 'He is on steroids!'.
