Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Douche Canoe (ranked 2999 p4p, 0 weight class) and Bas Dekkers (ranked 3365 p4p, 0 weight class). Canoe has a slight injury, which hopefully won't affect the fight too much. Bas Dekkers has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 16 - 16 - 2, fighting out of Las Vegas, Douche Canoe!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 29 - 23 - 1, fighting out of Las Vegas, Bas Dekkers!
The judges for this bout are Cecil Peabody, Frank Dennis and George Francis.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
A big right from Canoe misses.
Canoe is breathing heavily.
Dekkers goes for a spinning back kick but it misses.
Dekkers misses with an uppercut.
Canoe drops down looking for a counter takedown but Dekkers sprawls and moves away.
Dekkers lands with a right hand.
Dekkers has been working on his striking defense in training and it's paying off as Canoe is landing a low percentage of strikes.
Canoe ducks under an overhand right and circles away with a smile on his face.
A looping hook to the body misses from Dekkers. Canoe does a little dance to reset his feet.
Dekkers throws a hook but Canoe blocks it.
Canoe on the wrong end of a nice low kick. He's acting like it's no big deal but he doesn't want to take many more of those.

Dekkers lands a beauty of a right hand that gets the crowd cheering.


It looks like Douche Canoe has been cut.
Canoe shoots in for a double leg but Dekkers sprawls well. That's going to sap some energy.
Dekkers ducks low and lands a nice hook to the body of his opponent.
Dekkers feints a straight left to the body, then turns around with a flashy move and hits Canoes jaw with a dramatic spinning back fist!
Dekkers misses with an uppercut.
Dekkers misses with the combination.
This has been an exciting period of action!
Dekkers connects with a lovely right hand, straight down the pipe.
Canoe tries to shoot in for a takedown. He's got hold of a leg but Dekkers swivels and escapes.

Dekkers drops his shoulder and cracks Canoe with a huge uppercut! Canoe goes down! Can Dekkers finish him?


Canoe is rocked!

That's one minute gone in the round.
Dekkers slows down the pace of the fight, as he sits in guard.
Oh Canoe is still in real trouble! Will he be able to recover?!!
Dekkers stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Canoe swivels though and keeps the full guard.
Dekkers looking to control the position here, rather than advance.
Dekkers is pushing down on Canoe's leg trying to pass to half guard. Canoe is fighting to maintain full guard but Dekkers has managed to sneak the leg through.
Dekkers trying to control the pace.
Canoe seems to have got his legs back now.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.
Dekkers trying to pass the guard but Canoe defending well.

Canoe looking for submissions from an awkward position here.
Dekkers passes to side control.
Dekkers just content to control the position.
Dekkers tries to move to mount but Canoe blocks the move with his legs.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Canoe is letting Dekkers control him for a moment.
Canoe tries to improve position but can't.
Dekkers is staying tight to Canoe's torso, preventing him from escaping.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.
Let's hope that Dekkers has the urge to step up the pace any second now because for the last 15 or 20 seconds he's just been holding on tight.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up.
A combination from Dekkers does no damage.
Dekkers lands a really nice looking cross but Canoe seems unphased.
Canoe misses with a takedown
and Dekkers counters with a nice low kick that buckles Canoe's knee momentarily.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Douche Canoe. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Canoe uses some good footwork to avoid the body shot by Dekkers.
Dekkers lands with an uppercut that bounces Canoe off the cage and back into range.


Douche Canoe's cut is getting worse.
Dekkers wants to slow Canoe down by chopping away at his legs.
Dekkers cracks Canoe with a hook to the jaw. Both fighters smile at eachother and high-five before getting back down to business.
Canoe takes a really solid shot there but just smiles back and shrugs his shoulders.
Dekkers closes the distance and lands a brutal uppercut that knocks Canoe out! We're looking at the replay now - he was out before he hit the floor!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 4:44 of round 1, we have a winner by way of KO (Punch). Bas Dekkers!
A victorious Bas Dekkers thanked his army of followers in his post fight interview, telling people to make sure they follow him on Twitter.
