Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Tyson Johns (ranked 24257 p4p, 0 weight class) and Pekka Pouta (ranked 4629 p4p, 0 weight class). These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Pouta dodges the punch combination from Johns.
Johns gets caught flat footed, as Pouta shoots in with a quick takedown into guard.
A real slowdown in the pace of the fight for a moment, as Johns holds on and takes a little breather.
Johns looking for a sweep. Not yet Johns, not yet.
Pouta tries to stand but Johns is controlling from the bottom.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Pouta sneaks a leg through and gets to half guard. That was like a knife through butter how easily he passed Johns's guard.

Johns wants to improve his position but Pouta is controlling well.
Pouta wants to control but Johns is keeping him busy.
Johns trying to hold on to Pouta's head to control him but Pouta postures up.
Pouta missing with some ground and pound from the half guard.
Pouta stops Johns from getting back to his feet.
Still in half guard, Pouta seems content to control.
The referee wants the fighters to be more active or he's going to reset them on the feet.
Pouta wants to free his trapped foot but Johns is holding on for dear life with his legs.

Johns tries to roll over but Pouta keeps him under control.

There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.
Pouta drives through with a really nice takedown into side control.
Johns tries to get back to his feet but has found himself mounted instead. Damn, that's gotta suck.
Johns is in all sorts of trouble here.

Pouta tries to stand but his hand is stuck under Johns.
Johns holds on for dear life, maintaining half guard for now.

Johns really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape.
Pouta slips a nice elbow through Johns's hands, connecting with Johns's forehead.

Johns is trying to maintain the position but Pouta is very close to passing his half guard.
Johns is looking to get full guard. It looks like he might be successful but at the last minute Pouta jumps into side control!
Pouta connects with a decent looking elbow from side control that caused Johns some visible discomfort.
Johns is looking to regain half guard here but Pouta keeps moving and retains side control.
Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out!
Pouta advances nicely into full mount.

Pouta looks to land a body kick but Johns moved away.

Pouta drives through with a really nice takedown into side control.
Johns holds on tight, trying to prevent any damage.
Johns wants to control but Pouta postures up.
