Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Ricky Bobby Jr (ranked 786 p4p, 98 weight class) and Scott John (ranked 543 p4p, 74 weight class). Scott John told me before the fight that he's been watching a lot of DVDs so let's see if that helps him in this one! I can't wait to find out!

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

John's corner calls for a 1-2. John obliges with the 1 part as he scores the single shot and moves back out of range.

The referee sends both fighters to their corners and Bobby Jr has 5 minutes to recover. He's OK now though... a thumbs up from Bobby Jr and we're back underway with a touch of gloves.

We've been informed that John has been working hard on his conditioning in the buildup to the fight.

As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Bobby Jr throws a 1-2 combo that connects squarely on John's jaw, knocking him onto his back! Bobby Jr dives in looking to finish as John flails his arms in a desperate attempt to block Bobby Jr's strikes! Bobby Jr is raining down hammerfists and the ref stops it! John's desperate flailing just didn't constitute intelligent defence. Some people will probably question the ref's decision but John was definitely hurt and the ref saved him from taking unnecessary punishment. A fighter's safety is paramount in this sport.

Ricky Bobby Jr decided to go for the less than humble approach in his post fight interview, telling everyone how he is going to conquer the world. The crowd seemed to like it when really that sort of approach could have gone either way.
