The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Silva looking to take his opponent's legs away with the low kicks.
Maltsev connects with a jab.

Silva clinches up with Maltsev and pushes him back against the cage.
Maltsev lands punches inside but they're not really causing much damage.
A real battle for position is taking place between these two warriors.
Silva wants to stall.
Silva has hold of a leg and is looking for a trip takedown. Maltsev avoids it nicely though and we remain in the clinch.
Maltsev lands a shot to the body.
Silva struggles to land a body shot inside as Maltsev controls his hands.
Maltsev is trying to force a seperation but Silva has the dominant position.
Silva tries to land a knee to the body but he is off balance and Maltsev avoids it.
Silva has been working on his balance at Cozad The Island, so perhaps that has help him stuff some of the takedown attempts by Maltsev.

Silva misses with a shot to the kidneys.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Silva tries to score a body lock takedown but Maltsev shows good agility there to stay on his feet.

Maltsev lands a nice uppercut.
Maltsev lands a nice shot to the body.
Maltsev works for underhooks and lands a body shot in the process.
Maltsev looks more muscular than last time we saw him. He must have been on the weights.
Silva is breathing heavily.
Maltsev scores with a hook to the body.

Maltsev escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.

It looks like Wanderson Silva has been cut.
Silva takes an uppercut right on the button but keeps his composure.
Wanderson Silva seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Maltsev pounces like a tiger and cracks Silva with a vicious hook! Silva is down but not out! Maltsev follows up with more strikes forcing the ref to jump in and stop it!
