Coming up we have a middleweight kickboxing rules bout between Antero Vuori (ranked 2275 p4p, 267 weight class) and Pedro Scherer (ranked 6950 p4p, 515 weight class). Pedro Scherer has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of
7 - 5 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Antero Vuori!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of
1 - 4 - 2, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Pedro Scherer!
The judges for this bout are Gwen Towbar, Frank Dennis and Daniel Franklin.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

It looks like Pedro Scherer has been cut.
A low kick from Scherer misses
and Vuori counters with a good right hand that lands right on the jaw.
Vuori lands with a slapping head kick.
Scherer is rocked!
Scherer is the aggressor but that punch slipped nicely by Vuori.
Scherer is still on wobbly legs! Can Vuori finish him?
Scherer cracks the inside of Vuori's front leg.
Scherer misses with a hook.
Scherer seems to have recovered his senses.
Vuori has been working on his boxing with his coaches at K.O Heaven in the buildup to the fight.
That's a knee to de groin and it's over and out! Scherer crumples to the ground after an illegal strike from Vuori - the referee stops the clock and Scherer gets 5 minutes to recover from that one. "I'm sorry" says Vuori. Scherer manages to get back to his feet and the fight resumes.
Vuori connects with a looping right hand.
Vuori on the wrong end of a nice low kick. He's acting like it's no big deal but he doesn't want to take many more of those.
Scherer finds nothing but air with that leg kick attempt.
Vuori throws a half hearted mid kick.
Vuori has closed the distance and engaged Scherer in a clinch.
This has been an exciting period of action!
Scherer tries to break the clinch but Vuori is controlling the position.
Vuori really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape.
Vuori escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.
Scherer throws a nice inside leg kick.
Vuori looks to land a right hand but Scherer moved out of range.
Jab, jab by Vuori - just one landing.
That's one minute gone in the round.
Vuori misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.
Scherer throws a low kick but his opponent is out of range.
Vuori throws a hook to the body but it doesn't connect.
Scherer has been spending a lot of time sparring his boxing in the run up to the fight, trying to sharpen up those hands and look for a knockout.
Scherer has his hands up protecting his head but a hook from Vuori finds it's way round the side to connect with Scherer's head.
Vuori throws a right hand that Scherer ducks under and follows up with a left that Scherer also avoids with ease.
Scherer flicks out a counter leg kick but Vuori steps away.

Vuori throws a jab when Scherer was well out of range.
Scherer tries a quick counter leg kick but Vuori is wise to it.
Scherer shakes his hands off, looking to compose himself, but takes a jab to the jaw whilst he does it.
Scherer throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.
Vuori ducks under a wild hook from Scherer.
Vuori keeps his opponent at a distance with a nice jab.
Scherer does a little shimmy and throws a leg kick. The leg kick missed by a considerable margin though, making him look a little bit silly for doing the shimmy.
Vuori throws a quick counter head kick but Scherer was just out of range.
Vuori scores with a jab and follows up with an uppercut that drops Scherer to his knees! He bounces straight back to his feet but is forced to take the mandatory standing 8 count before he's allowed to continue. We're back under way and the fighters meet in the middle of the canvas to re-engage.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Vuori throws out a powerful jab.
Vuori checks a low kick. Bone on bone - not my idea of a good time.
That's two minutes gone in the round.
Vuori has taken the fight to the clinch.
Scherer's head jolts backwards as he takes an uppercut right on the button!
Vuori pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat.
Scherer ducks into a a hook from Vuori and goes down! He looks in a bit of a mess; will he beat the count?! 4,5,6,7,8 - he's up and looking to carry on! The referee looks into his eyes and sees that he's OK to continue!
A good leg kick by Scherer.
Scherer walks into a straight right hand and goes down! Vuori rushes to a neutral corner so the count doesn't get delayed but Scherer has made it back to his feet on 5. He's OK so we're back to the action.
Vuori throws a looping overhand right but Scherer ducks down to avoid it.
Vuori connects with a crushing straight, right on the bridge of Scherer's nose, sending him crumpling to the mat! That's really rocked Scherer - is he going to beat the count??? 4,5,6,7,8,9.....10 - he's not made it - this one is all over!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:35 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Punch). Antero Vuori!
A very excited looking Antero Vuori made sure he remembered to thank all the fans both in the arena and on the internet. He said all the coolest people spend all day on MMA websites, which got a big reaction.
