PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Javier Lopez (ranked 4573 p4p, 0 weight class) and Sir Lord Baltimore (ranked 4564 p4p, 0 weight class). Chooooooooon! I think Lopez might be my favorite fighter, now he's come out to Pump it up. We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Lopez tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Baltimore paws at him with a jab and circles away.
Baltimore is looking for the big counter here.

Baltimore throws the overhand right but ducks down into a quick takedown attempt. Lopez was covering up waiting for the punch and Baltimore finishes the takedown easily into guard.
Baltimore controls from within his opponent's guard.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

That's one minute gone in the round.
It looks like Baltimore might be adopting somewhat of a lay and pray gameplan here, which I'm sure won't go down too well with the paying fans in attendance... Or the ring announcers come to think of it.
We've had a lack of effective grappling in the last minute or so, which could well see a referee standup.

Baltimore drops back looking for a leg! Lopez is in trouble here! The fighters roll with the hold and Lopez manages to kick Baltimore off! Baltimore jumps back into Lopez's guard.
Baltimore wants to stand but Lopez has a closed guard, so he can't escape.

The referee has motioned to the fighters to stand back up. He just wasn't happy with the level of activity.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.
Baltimore tries a head kick but it misses.
Lopez changes levels looking for a counter takedown but doesn't commit.

Baltimore clinches up with Lopez and pushes him back against the cage.
Lopez using the Thai plumb to throw knees but Baltimore has his back arched nicely, preventing the strike.
Lopez tries to land knees in the clinch but Baltimore avoids the damage to the body.

Baltimore pulls guard.
Lopez wants to control from the top but Baltimore keeps moving.

Baltimore tries to land a sweep but no joy.
Baltimore pulls Lopez in close to prevent any damage.
Baltimore is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.
Lopez postures up to throw the ground and pound strikes but they don't connect.

Lopez has a momentary lapse of concentration, allowing Baltimore to throw up a leg and lock on what appears to be a pretty tight triangle! Lopez is fighting it off but it's all too little too late - Baltimore pulls down on the head and he's put Lopez to sleep! This one is all over!
