PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Bobby Wangler (ranked 708 p4p, 96 weight class) and Harold Zoid (ranked 867 p4p, 126 weight class). Wangler comes to the cage accompanied by The Clash - I Fought The Law. Rumors backstage are that the fighters have been paid to keep it standing but we know that would never happen in MMA!

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Zoid throws a couple of head shots and lands with the final one - a decent hook, which struck Wangler on the side of the head.
Wangler shoots in but no luck this time.
Zoid defends well against a solid takedown attempt from Wangler.
Zoid throws a body shot but no joy.
Wangler tries to shoot in for a takedown. He's got hold of a leg but Zoid swivels and escapes.
Zoid swings away with a counter right hand but no contact made.

Wangler has improved his flexibility recently so we will have to see if he can use that to his advantage.

Zoid throws a head kick that lands with a deafening thwack! The crowd roars as Wangler stumbles backwards and falls to the mat. Zoid follows into mount!
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Zoid throws a body punch but Wangler moves out of range.

Wangler darts in looking for a takedown but Zoid gets double underhooks and turns Wangler into the cage.

It looked like Wangler wanted to counter with a hook but didn't fully commit.

Wangler manages to get an easy takedown there - catching Zoid on his heels. He'll look to pass Zoid's guard now, I'm sure.
Zoid wants to stand up but Wangler is controlling him.

Wangler was looking to counter that move with a punch but didn't quite pull the trigger.

A nice side step and Zoid releases a counter shot to the body, but it doesn't find it's home.

Wangler bobs and weaves into range and then changes levels and scores with a nice takedown into side control.
Zoid has found himself in a tricky position here. He's been working his transitions in training so let's see if he can work his way out of it.

Zoid has been the more effective fighter overall so far.

Wangler throws a loose over hand right and dives in with a double leg takedown. Zoid tries to sprawl but it's too late and the fighters hit the mat. Wangler is in Zoid's guard.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
