Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Dutch Schultz (ranked 513 p4p, 81 weight class) and Judas Priest (ranked 2035 p4p, 265 weight class). These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 5 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Dutch Schultz!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 5 - 6 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Judas Priest!
The judges for this bout are Wesley Smith, George Francis and Frank Dennis.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Schultz's corner calls for a 1-2. Schultz obliges with the 1 part as he scores the single shot and moves back out of range.
No joy there for Priest, who threw a few shots but didn't land.
Priest lands a really nice looking cross but Schultz seems unphased.
Schultz throws a low kick, looking for Priest's leg but Priest calmly moves out of range.

Priest closes the distance and clinches.
Schultz misses with a hook from the clinch.
Schultz struggles to land a body shot inside as Priest controls his hands.
Priest has had enough of the clinch but Schultz keeps him there for the moment.
Schultz pushes Priest back against the cage and lands a hook to the side of the head.
Priest misses with a hook to the ribs.
A short right from Schultz on the inside.
Priest working hard to break the clinch.
Priest goes for a body shot but it's blocked.

Priest gets a trip takedown into half guard.
This has been an exciting period of action!

Priest is trying for a guillotine from the top but the pressure isn't in the right place so Schultz is just riding it out for now. Priest eventually gives up the hold.
Schultz is controlling Priest's position as best he can from this difficult position.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Schultz wants to get back to his feet.
Priest thows a huge punch but Schultz dodges it nicely.

Priest is trying to work for a kimura. This could be trouble! No, Schultz has managed to free his arm - good work.
Priest missing with some ground and pound from the half guard.

Priest is thinking about going for an arm triangle but he can't free his leg.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
A lull in the action here being met with boos from the crowd.
Schultz pushes Priest off looking to stand but Priest dives back in and keeps control.
Priest seems very keen to just sit and control from half guard but Schultz does not like that idea so much and is remaining active off his back.
Schultz wants to get back to his feet.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Priest trying to control from half guard but Schultz is working away.

The referee has stepped in and called for a break in the action. We'll restart on the feet.
Priest shoots in for a takedown. He's persisting with it as Schultz sprawls well. Schultz wins this battle and keeps the fight standing. Priest gets slowly back to his feet.
Schultz misses with a few strikes there.
Schultz scores with a nice looking left hook and follows it up with an uppercut!
Priest displaying good standup as he scores with a three punch combination.
Priest throws a looping overhand right but Schultz ducks down to avoid it.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Schultz lands with a right hand.
Schultz scores with a nice one two combo and darts back out of range to avoid anything coming in the opposite direction.
Schultz lands a head shot.


Priest is rocked!


It looks like Judas Priest has been cut.
Schultz scores with a sloppy right hand. Priest should have avoided that one.
Priest is still on wobbly legs! Can Schultz finish him?
Priest slips a jab and a cross from Schultz.
Schultz cracks Priest on the jaw with a powerful right hand and Priest falls backwards against the cage. Schultz follows up with more strikes that drop Priest to his knees. Schultz keeps the pressure on and the referee jumps in to save Priest! This one is all over!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 3:25 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Dutch Schultz!
During a confident post fight interview, Dutch Schultz thanked all his fans. He seemed very genuine when describing how motivated his fans keep him.
