MacGowan is bobbing his head along to his entrance song: The Pogues - Streams of Whiskey. Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 17 - 5 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Gaultier Girard!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 18 - 8 - 1, fighting out of Amsterdam, Shane MacGowan!
The judges for this bout are , Don Winkell and Timothy Bukovac.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
MacGowan moving in and out of range nicely, whilst landing the scoring shot.
Girard has been working on his boxing with his coaches at Mary Gracies Jiu Jitsu in the buildup to the fight.
Girard lands a leg kick and bounces back out of range.
A low kick from Girard is predictable there
and MacGowan makes him pay by landing a nice hook to the body before moving out of range.
MacGowan drops his hands momentarily and Girard takes advantage with a crisp shot to the head.
Gaultier Girard seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Girard lands with a good body shot.
Girard goes for a spinning back kick but it misses.
Girard uses good head movement to avoid the hook from MacGowan.
Girard fakes with a right hand and throws a good leg kick, right into the thigh. That had to hurt MacGowan.
Girard finds nothing but air with that leg kick attempt.
Girard scores with a spinning back kick!
A big right from MacGowan misses.
Nice uppercut there from Girard.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.
Girard looks to land a right hand but MacGowan moved out of range.
Girard dances in quickly and lands a nice inside leg kick on MacGowan. That did some damage!
Girard looks to throw the jab but MacGowan is out of range.

That's one minute gone in the round.
MacGowan on the receiving end of a decent leg kick there by Girard. Girard obviously looking to wear him down.
MacGowan chopped to the floor by a nice leg kick but he springs right back up before Girard can pounce on him.
A telegraphed takedown attempt from MacGowan is defended easily by Girard.
Girard takes a jab on the nose. He smiles like he loves it and keeps coming.
Girard thuds a mid kick into his opponent's body. That will wear on MacGowan if he has to take too many more of those.
MacGowan chopped to the floor by a nice leg kick but he springs right back up before Girard can pounce on him.
Girard scores with a spinning back kick!
Girard misses the shot to the body.
MacGowan keeping at a good range here, avoiding a leg kick.
Girard lands an overhand right.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
MacGowan missing with a left hand there. Girard was out of range so wasted energy throwing that one.
Girard scores with a crisp jab that stopped MacGowan in his tracks.
This has been an exciting period of action!

Girard cracks MacGowan with a big right hand that sends him to the floor! MacGowan looks wobbly but he's sprung back up to his feet straight away… can Girard finish him?


MacGowan is rocked!
Girard lunges in with a left hook that violently twists MacGowan head around and knocks him out cold! Girard hops onto the cage and yells out at the top of his lungs - Yeeeeeeeeaaaaaaaaah! They're showing the replay on the big screens now; that was nasty! I hope one of the photographers got a good shot of it.

Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:23 of round 1, we have a winner by way of KO (Punch). Gaultier Girard!
After the fight, Gaultier Girard was humble in paying tribute to his opponent but made it clear he wants to go on to bigger and better things. It seemed to go down well with the crowd who cheered him loudly.
