Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Jay Crawford (ranked 1652 p4p, 215 weight class) and Melchizedek Halo (ranked 1208 p4p, 170 weight class). Jay Crawford has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 5 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 7 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Jay Crawford!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 21 - 10 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Melchizedek Halo!
The judges for this bout are Cecil Peabody, Daniel Franklin and Stewart Dunkirk.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Crawford jabs Halo to the body, keeping him at a distance.
Crawford will need to close the distance a bit before he attacks - that leg kick was thrown from too far away.
Crawford throws a low kick but it's checked well by Halo.
Crawford throws a combination but comes up with nothing but fresh air.
Halo tries to score a power double leg takedown but Crawford sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten Halo somewhat.
Crawford fakes high and swings low for a body shot but Halo manages to avoid it.
Halo tries to counter by closing the distance.
Crawford goes for a high kick. It partially lands.
Crawford throws a chopping leg kick but Halo manages to avoid taking any serious damage.
Halo tries to clinch up against the cage, rushing in to close the distance. Crawford manages to break the clinch and circles back to the middle of the mat.
Halo shoots in but Crawford avoids the takedown attempt easily.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Crawford has been working on his boxing with his coaches at Mary Gracies Jiu Jitsu in the buildup to the fight.
Halo sees a low kick coming and goes to check it, but it's actually a body kick and it thuds into his unprotected ribs.

Halo shoots in for a takedown! He's got it and he's managed to land in side control! That's better than Halo was expecting from the takedown attempt, I'm sure!

Crawford cracks Halo on the jaw with a powerful right hand and Halo falls backwards against the cage. Crawford follows up with more strikes that drop Halo to his knees. Crawford keeps the pressure on and the referee jumps in to save Halo! This one is all over!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:34 of round 3, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Jay Crawford!
Jay Crawford decided to go for the less than humble approach in his post fight interview, telling everyone how he is going to conquer the world. The crowd seemed to like it when really that sort of approach could have gone either way.
In defeat, Melchizedek Halo stepped up to the mic, saying 'The game plan was wrong. We will re-watch the tape and figure out where we went wrong. '.
