Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Yoel Edson (ranked 3863 p4p, 416 weight class) and TIny T Rex (ranked 3713 p4p, 406 weight class). On his way into the cage it seems that Yoel Edson has been attacked by a crazed fan! It looks like it might have been the just bleed guy! Luckily Yoel Edson seems to be OK! I thought that lunatic was in prison!?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Rex ducks down and throws a hook to the body but Edson moves away.
Rex defends well against a solid takedown attempt from Edson.

Rex darts in and clinches Edson up against the cage.
Rex misses with a shot to the kidneys.
Rex doesn't land with the attempted body shot.
Rex can't find room to land a body shot as Edson controls the action.

Rex gets double underhooks to prevent a takedown attempt from Edson.

Rex breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Edson throws a series of punches but Rex moves out of range.

It looks like TIny T Rex has been cut.

Edson wants to clinch up but Rex keeps it at a distance.
Edson scores with a decent looking hook.
A head kick misses from Edson.
Rex tries a counter takedown but it's more of a dummy move, and he uses it to push himself away.
Edson tries to score a power double leg takedown but Rex sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten Edson somewhat.
Edson has been working on his boxing with his coaches at Special Ops N7 Training in the buildup to the fight.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Yoel Edson. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Rex throws a nice hook to the body that draws an oooh from the crowd.
Rex jabs Edson to the body, keeping him at a distance.
Sloppy strikes from Edson. Those never looked like landing.

Yoel Edson seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

Edson goes to the watering hole and comes back with a big thumbs up from the judges as he scores a three punch combo.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.

Edson is breathing heavily.
Edson throws a mid kick that lands with a slap.
Edson misses with a takedown attempt. He shot from a bit too far out.
Rex blocks a leg kick.
And Rex tries to counter it with a takedown but Edson pushes his down on his head and steps out.
Edson pushes forward with a 1-2 combination that forces Rex back to the cage. Edson follows up with a solid lead hook to the liver.
A big left from Rex misses.
Rex just misses with a punch to the body.
Rex takes a kick to the body and keeps moving.
Edson shuffles to his left behind two crisp jabs. Rex eats them both and turns towards Edson to reposition himself and eats a stinging right hand-left hook combo.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

That's time! Edson's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight.

Edson dodges the punch combination from Rex.
A nice leg kick lands there from Edson.
A chopping leg kick lands by Edson.
The fight stays on the outside here - Edson looks like he's thinking about clinching though.

Rex shoots in and gets a takedown into Edson's guard.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Hammerfist, elbow! yells Rex's corner. There ya go! There ya go!
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Rex trying to land body shots but he keeps hitting the mat.
Rex working some ground and pound from guard but it's not doing any damage.
Rex passes easily into side control. Nice work.

Rex lands a nice forearm strike.
Edson takes a nasty elbow to the side of the head.
Rex is looking to take a break and control but Edson is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.
Rex sitting in side control, looking to soften his opponent up with elbows and hammerfists but Edson is avoiding damage well and looking to escape the position.

Rex has knee on belly and now moves to full mount! Trouble for Edson!
Rex has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan.

Rex is landing with some decent strikes but Edson is trying to advance his position so the referee is letting the fight continue.

Edson is rocked!
Edson holds on, trying desperately to control.
Rex takes a little breather and maintains the position. The referee will be looking for him to stay active from such a dominant position though.
Edson in a bad spot here, taking shots to the head.
Oh Edson is still in real trouble! Will he be able to recover?!!
Rex lands a big shot there that rocks Edson but he's holding on and managing to survive for now.

Edson wants to control but Rex is having none of it.

TIny T Rex showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.

OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action. This is the final round!

Edson throws a nice looking combination but Rex bobs and weaves to avoid any damage.
Edson seems to have got his legs back now.
Yoel Edson is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things.
Rex throws an uppercut from half a mile away. Edson sees it coming and avoids it easily.
Edson takes a shot right to the liver - Bas would have been proud of that punch.
Rex thows a left - swing and a miss!
Edson lunges in with swinging rights and lefts but Rex circles away quickly and effectively.
Rex connects with a nice looking jab.
Edson lands with a nice low kick. That'll leave a bruise.
Rex just misses with a punch to the body.
Edson throws a leg kick that is checked

and Rex counters with a nice double leg into guard.

Rex scores with a decent looking elbow strike.
Edson has momentary wrist control but Rex slips an elbow through the middle.

Rex's corner is telling him to maintain position.
Rex is continuing to stall.
Edson wants to stand but Rex is controlling the position.
Edson bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in Rex's guard.

Rex is trying to control the position from the bottom.
There's a bit of a scramble here and now Rex is on top in guard.
