Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between David Kappa (ranked 2379 p4p, 265 weight class) and Jack Steel (ranked 995 p4p, 124 weight class). Both fighters will be looking to make this an exciting fight for the fans, I'm sure!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of New York, David Kappa!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 8 - 2 - 0, fighting out of London, Jack Steel!
The judges for this bout are James Glass, Richard Clark and Sam Margolis.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Kappa missing with a left hand there. Steel was out of range so wasted energy throwing that one.
Steel throws a two punch combo that lands nicely.
Jab by Steel.
Steel moves into range and throws a combination. A nice jab followed by a hook to the body.
Kappa staying out of range there.
Sloppy strikes from Steel. Those never looked like landing.
Kappa throws a push kick but Steel slaps the foot to one side.
Steel lands a straight punch to the body, keeping Kappa at a distance.
Kappa throws a right hand that misses
and Kappa takes a counter punch right on the button for his troubles.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
Kappa misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.
Steel is moving around nicely and scores here with a single head shot.

Steel has been working on his striking defense in training and it's paying off as Kappa is landing a low percentage of strikes.

Steel takes a step towards his opponent and connects with a left hand, before circling away.

Steel rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but Kappa moves out of range and avoids them all easily.

Steel has his hands up protecting his head but a hook from Kappa finds it's way round the side to connect with Steel's head.

Jack Steel seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

Kappa takes a solid shot to the body. That one hurt him but he's trying not to show it.

Kappa could do with losing a few pounds - he looks very soft around the mid section, to put it politely.
Steel will need to tighten up his combinations if he doesn't want to gas himself out, swinging at thin air.
Steel has used his reach advantage pretty well so far tonight.

A nice side step and Steel releases a counter shot to the body, but it doesn't find it's home.

It looks like Jack Steel has been cut.
Kappa keeps his opponent at a distance with a nice jab.
Steel scores with a reasonable looking shot to the body. Kappa doesn't seem bothered though.
Kappa is pinned up against the cage taking some big shots here. The referee is looking closely deciding whether he should stop the fight.
Steel is landing a lot of head punches in this opening round! Kappa had better start moving his head a bit unless he wants his face to turn into pâté.

Steel feints a jab promting Kappa to slip. Steel then demonstrates his capabilities by jabbing again. Kappa slips again and ducks right into an uppercut.

and Steel cracks him with a counter punch right on the button.
Kappa takes a jab on the nose. He smiles like he loves it and keeps coming.
The crowd applaud the fighters' efforts here as the round comes to an end.

and Kappa counters with a slapping leg kick.
Kappa moves his head to the side to avoid a jab but walks straight into a cross.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

No joy there for Kappa, who threw a few shots but didn't land.
Kappa takes a punch right to his stomach. That took the wind out of him momentarily.

This entire fight has taken place on the feet so far and you wonder whether Kappa might be better served trying to take this one to the ground because he's losing the standup battle so far.

This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

Well Steel has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
