The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

ChargyMargy bobs and weaves into range and then changes levels and scores with a nice takedown into side control.

ChargyMargy swings around for an armbar but Gomes sees it coming a mile off and turns beautifully into ChargyMargy's guard.
Gomes told us pre-fight that he has been working on his escapes in training. Let's see if he can call on some of his new skills to get back to his feet.
ChargyMargy is breathing heavily.
ChargyMargy can't keep his opponent in guard - Gomes advances to half guard, no doubt looking to mount.
Gomes passes the half guard and he's now in mount! Big trouble for ChargyMargy!
Gomes moves to the back position.
ChargyMargy staying busy and making it hard for Gomes to control.

Gomes is working for the choke. I would put my money on him to finish from this position. He's rolled onto his back and has dragged ChargyMargy with him. ChargyMargy is trying to defend but Gomes has an arm under the chin now! ChargyMargy grimaces and is forced to tap out!
