PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Barol Kedorf (ranked 1590 p4p, 197 weight class) and Aki Hiko (ranked 2559 p4p, 265 weight class). Kedorf comes to the cage accompanied by Ostatni dzwonek. Both these guys have really solid chins. Will we see a standup war or will they both decide that a knockout is unlikely and try to win the fight elsewhere?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 32 - 29 - 0, fighting out of London, Barol Kedorf!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 15 - 11 - 0, fighting out of New York, Aki Hiko!
The judges for this bout are William Gold, Chris Edwards and James Atkins.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Kedorf lands with an uppercut that bounces Hiko off the cage and back into range.
Barol Kedorf seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Kedorf with poor footwork there. He got himself in a bit of a tangle, enabling Hiko to score with a decent uppercut.


It looks like Barol Kedorf has been cut.
Hiko blocks a jab.
Hiko drops down looking to force a counter takedown but Kedorf defends it well.
Kedorf looks to land a combination but Hiko avoids it well.
Kedorf misses with a wild body shot.
Hiko keeping a good distance there, avoiding the body shot.
Hiko bobs and weaves and throws out a fast jab that snaps Kedorf's head backwards.
Hiko looks to score with a jab to the body but Kedorf is just out of range.
Kedorf throws a poor cross that misses
and Hiko counters with a nice uppercut.
Hiko takes a step towards his opponent and connects with a left hand, before circling away.
Kedorf is the aggressor but that punch slipped nicely by Hiko.
Kedorf stumbles momentarily as he takes a strong leg kick from Hiko.
Hiko uses some good footwork to avoid the body shot by Kedorf.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
Hiko throws a body punch but Kedorf moves out of range.
Kedorf has been talking about how he's improved his wrestling in the run up to the fight so let's see if that's enough to sway the balance.
Kedorf loads up on a big right hand but Hiko slips the punch.
Hiko on the wrong end of a nice hook.
Hiko comes forward and lands a shot to the body, then darts back out of range.

That's one minute gone in the round.
A lazy left from Hiko finds it's target.
Kedorf lands a right hook to the body.
Kedorf throws an off balance right hand

and Hiko counters with a nice shoot takedown that brings the fighters to the ground.
Kedorf wants to stand but Hiko is controlling the position.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Kedorf keeping moving, preventing Hiko from controlling successfully.
Hiko is looking to work some ground and pound but Kedorf has wrist control.
Hiko with a flurry of punches that miss.
Hiko stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Kedorf swivels though and keeps the full guard.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Hiko postures up in Kedorf's guard and throws a big left but Kedorf blocks it.
Hiko is working the ground and pound from guard. He might want to try advancing position though to get more of an impact.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Hiko is pushing down on Kedorf's leg trying to pass to half guard. Kedorf is fighting to maintain full guard but Hiko has managed to sneak the leg through.
Hiko working over Kedorf with some ground and pound. Kedorf looks like he wants out of this position, which is understandable.
Hiko lands strikes from half guard.
In the pre-fight buildup videos we saw Hiko working his ground and pound in the gym.
Hiko throwing punches and elbows but they're not doing any damage.
Hiko is controlling the pace.

Hiko is trying a forearm choke… I don't think that's going to do much at this level of the game.
Hiko is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

Hiko is working for a kimura but Kedorf is defending it quite comfortably.
Hiko takes advantage of the dominant position to land a couple of big hammer fists.
Kedorf is trying to stand.

Barol Kedorf's cut is getting worse.
Kedorf keeping his head moving to avoid the ground and pound.
Hiko is keeping good posture, landing some ground and pound.
Hiko thows a wild elbow that connects with the canvas.
Hiko thows a huge punch but Kedorf dodges it nicely.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
Hiko trying to control from half guard but Kedorf is working away.
Hiko drops an elbow to the side of Kedorf's head.
Hiko lands strikes from half guard.
Hiko sitting in half guard, looking to land shots. Kedorf defending well though.
Hiko prevents Kedorf from standing back up.
Hiko winds up and cracks Kedorf with a swinging punch to the side of the head.


Barol Kedorf's cut is bleeding quite badly. He's got to try and protect it.
Hiko throwing shots but they're hitting the canvas more than the man.
Kedorf keeping his head moving to avoid the ground and pound.
Hiko is nestled in close to Kedorf, controlling him well. He's worked in a nice elbow to the side of the head as well, for good measure.

The referee calls the doctor in to look at Barol Kedorf's cut. Oh no, the doctor has called an end to the bout!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 4:56 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Cut). Aki Hiko!
Aki Hiko gave a mention to Freebok (85% Laundry) in his post fight interview. That will please them (and hopefully generate some sales).
Barol Kedorf spoke after the fight, saying 'Juz nie moge sie doczekac, az wroce do domu i przytule mojego synka Morysa '.
