Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Toney Hyde (ranked 6110 p4p, 0 weight class) and Jesus Christ (ranked 6184 p4p, 0 weight class). Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 3 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Toney Hyde!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 2 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Jesus Christ!
The judges for this bout are George Francis, Cecil Peabody and Stewart Dunkirk.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Some wild striking there from Hyde.

A momentary lapse in concentration from Hyde enables Christ to shoot in and score with a neat double leg. Hyde manages to secure a closed guard as the fighters hit the mat.
In the pre-fight buildup videos we saw Christ working his ground and pound in the gym. He isn't landing a great percentage of his ground strikes so far though.
We could do with one of the fighters taking the initiative a bit more on the ground - they're both waiting to capitalize on a mistake.
Christ wants to get up but he can't break Hyde's closed guard. He needs to be careful trying to break the legs open, as he's open to submissions here.

Christ stands up over Hyde, holding his feet. He dives back in and lands a decent shot to the head.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Christ is sitting in guard, working some ground and pound.
Christ is just sitting in guard, looking to avoid any submissions.

Hyde lands a beautiful sweep and he's now moved into his opponent's guard.

Hyde wants to stand but Christ is controlling his posture from full guard.
Christ is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.
Hyde in full guard, throwing the ground and pound. No damage this time.

Hyde could do with losing a few pounds - he looks very soft around the mid section, to put it politely.

The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.
Hyde content to strike from guard, landing some decent shots.
Hyde postures up and scores with a shot to the body and a follow up elbow to the head.
Christ wants to stand but Hyde is controlling the position.
Christ is adopting a defensive guard.
Hyde wants to stand and escape but instead Christ has hit a sweep and he's now on top in guard.

Christ slows down the pace of the fight for a moment. He'll need to remain active if he doesn't want to see the fight stood back up.

Hyde controls Christ momentarily but Christ frees himself.

Hyde can't do much from the bottom at the moment, as Christ controls the pace.
Hyde is looking to sweep but instead, Christ has passed into half guard.
Well, if Christ is going to just lie there, perhaps we should talk about what we're having for dinner tonight… I'm having a ham and pineapple pizza… Yum. Can't wait.

My god... these two guys really need to pick up the pace or everyone will leave to go get a beer.
The referee claps his hands together and tells the fighters to work.
Christ looks towards his corner to check for any instructions. The corner give him nothing to work with, so he cracks Hyde with a short hammerfist. I guess that's as good as any advice he could get in this position.
Hyde is looking for a sweep. Christ is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position.
Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out!
Still in half guard, Christ seems content to control.
Hyde tries to roll over but Christ keeps him under control.
Hyde regains full guard. Nicely done.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Jesus Christ dominated that round.
OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action.


Hyde throws a left and a right that both miss

and Christ moves into the clinch.
Hyde jumps guard but Christ turns him against the cage and keeps the fight standing.
Christ is pressed up against the cage. Hyde has hold of a leg and is looking to drag Christ down to the mat. Christ avoids the attempt though and has circled away. We're back to striking at a distance.
Christ is looking to chop away at Hyde's legs.

Christ closes the distance and clinches up, looking for a takedown. He shifts his weight and gets a nice trip into half guard.
Hyde is trying to get back to full guard.
Christ is looking to advance position but Hyde won't allow it.
Hyde misses with some strikes from the bottom.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Hyde gets back to half guard.
Hyde tries to roll over but Christ keeps him under control.
Neither fighter is being very active at the moment, with Christ in particular looking to stall.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Christ lands with an elbow from half guard - that looked like it hurt.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Christ slows the pace down in half guard.
Christ is continuing to stall.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.

Christ is looking for a kimura. It's going to be difficult to finish that from half guard though and Hyde defends it well.
Jesus Christ has got the better of the ground game so far.
Hyde on the receiving end of some nice ground and pound.

Christ looking to pass the half guard. Not this time.
Christ working Hyde over with strikes.
Christ is trying to get back to his feet now but his leg is trapped.
Christ winds up and cracks Hyde with a swinging punch to the side of the head.
Christ tries to stand but his hand is stuck under Hyde.
Hyde tries to roll over but Christ keeps him under control.
Hyde gets back to full guard.
Christ not doing a lot at the moment. He'll have to show some more aggression or the fight will get stood up.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
Hyde looking to hit a scissor sweep but Christ is one step ahead there.

The ref stands the fighters back up due to a lack of activity.
Hyde shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Christ pinned against the cage. Christ gets the underhooks and manages to circle away.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Toney Hyde. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out!
Hyde throws a series of punches but Christ moves out of range.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Jesus Christ showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
The minute break is over - no more time for sponges and pep talks - back to the action! This is the final round!


Hyde shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says Christ as he avoids it easily.
Hyde moves out of range as Christ throws a body kick.

Christ bobs and weaves into range and then changes levels and scores with a nice takedown into side control.
Hyde tries to work a leg under to get back to half guard but Christ wriggles his own leg back out and remains in side control.
Christ has been the more effective fighter overall so far.
A lull in the action here.

It looks like Toney Hyde has been cut.

Christ decides to stand back up.
A telegraphed takedown attempt from Hyde is defended easily by Christ.
Both fighters are breathing heavily.
Hyde shoots in for a takedown. He's persisting with it as Christ sprawls well. Christ wins this battle and keeps the fight standing. Hyde gets slowly back to his feet.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Toney Hyde. That's going to take a lot out of him.

Christ fakes with an overhand right and moves in to clinch with Hyde, pushing him back against the cage.

Hyde is looking for a takedown up against the cage. Christ gets underhooks though and prevents the takedown attempt.

Christ breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.

Christ looking for a takedown here - he's got it.
Christ looking to control the position here, rather than advance.
Hyde wants to control the position but Christ says "no thanks buddy" and passes to half guard.

Christ lands a big shot. The thud that echoes around the arena is like music to the fans' ears.
Christ has freed up his trapped foot and advances to mount.
The crowd growing excited in anticipation of a finish here! Right on cue, Christ cracks his opponent with a massive right hand that draws loud cheers!

Christ lands a heavy elbow.
Hyde wants to improve position but instead he's given up his back.
Christ really has the hooks in deep now - there seems like no escape for Hyde.

I would not like to be Hyde right now.
The adventures of Christ the control monster continue. Boring.
Hyde is trying to break free.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.
Christ biding his time, controlling Hyde.
Hyde tries to roll but Christ sticks to his back.

And that's the end of the fight!
Jesus Christ comfortably won the final round on my scorecard.
Well Christ has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
