Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Aloysius Wiremu (ranked 1840 p4p, 227 weight class) and Evan Payton (ranked 1503 p4p, 196 weight class). Wiremu's ring entrance music is that housewives' favourite, Billy Joel - The River of Dreams. Aloysius Wiremu has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Payton throws a lazy uppercut
and Wiremu counters with a nice body shot.
Wiremu moves in looking to clinch but Payton pushes him off.
Payton scores with a punch to the head.
Wiremu ducks down and throws a hook to the body but Payton moves away.
Payton misses the body punch
and Wiremu counters with a body kick that brings a smile to the face of both fighters.
Payton lands a nice shot that snaps Wiremu's head back.

Payton pushes Wiremu up against the cage in a clinch.
Wiremu can't find room to land a body shot as Payton controls the action.
Payton misses with a punch on the inside.
Payton lands a nice shot to the body.

Wiremu is fighting off a takedown attempt but Payton is just too persistent for him and manages to trip Wiremu to the mat. Wiremu regains guard as soon as the fighters hit the mat.

The fighters circling - Wiremu throws out the jab but it was never going to land.

Payton has dropped down and is looking to force the takedown but it's defended by Wiremu after a bit of a struggle.
We've been informed that Payton has been working hard on his conditioning in the buildup to the fight.

Payton is working on a single leg takedown against the cage. Wiremu can't fight it off and eventually Payton manages to take the fight to the floor. Wiremu looks annoyed but at least he's managed to land in guard.

Payton has his foot on Wiremu's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Wiremu works his way back into a safe position though.

That was a close second round but I would say that Aloysius Wiremu will probably get the nod.
