Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Frank Martin (ranked 2006 p4p, 254 weight class) and Mario Rossi (ranked 2781 p4p, 323 weight class). Fingers crossed for an exciting fight - I'm sure both fighters are looking for a nice under the table bonus!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 2 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 10 - 14 - 0, fighting out of New York, Frank Martin!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 7 - 5 - 0, fighting out of New York, Mario Rossi!
The judges for this bout are Phil Schofield, Chris Edwards and Richard Clark.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Martin shoots in but doesn't get the takedown
and Rossi counters with a straight right hand.
Rossi pushing out the jab but it's not landing.
Frank Martin seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Martin tries to close the distance and clinch up against the ropes but Rossi paws at him with a jab and circles away.
Rossi looked like he wanted to counter with a punch but didn't throw it.
Martin looks for a takedown but Rossi sprawls well.
Martin shoots in for a takedown but doesn't get it.
And an attempted straight right on the counter from Rossi! But no joy.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Frank Martin. That's going to take a lot out of him.

and Rossi counters with a quick right hand to the jaw.

and Rossi counters with a nice jab to the body that keeps Martin thinking.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Good leg kick by Rossi there. It's the ones that make that thud noise that hurt and that was an almighty thud.

Martin tries to clinch up but Rossi circles away and keeps his distance.

Rossi throws a fast counter high kick but Martin manages to duck under it in time.

Martin gets tackled into the ropes by Rossi. Rossi maintains the clinch.

enabling Rossi to counter with a crisp jab.
Rossi connects with a leg kick. Martin looked like he was expecting something else and didn't defend it.
Martin looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? Rossi is fending him off so far but Martin persists. Nope, Rossi circles away and we're back to standing.
Rossi keeps the fight standing with a nice sprawl.
Rossi is clearly looking to counter with head kicks.
Martin looks to be in better condition than last time we saw him fight. Obviously he's been working hard on his cardio.
Rossi scores with a punch to the head.

This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

Mario Rossi is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.
Rossi stooping low to avoid any incoming strikes and then lunges in with an uppercut come cross that lands flush.

Martin is rocked!
Rossi looks for a left high kick but can't connect. Rossi backs up to catch a breather... no he lunges forward with a huge flying knee that smacks Martin's temple! It sends Martin violently to the canvas! The crowd goes nuts as Rossi celebrates and the doctors try to help Martin!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:25 of round 1, we have a winner by way of KO (Flying Knee). Mario Rossi!
Mario Rossi was full of energy after the big win and talked about how he thinks he can do big things in this sport. The crowd were appreciative of his determination to succeed.
