The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Stephenson fakes high and shoots in for a takedown but Xenox avoids it really well and circles away.
Stephenson shoots in looking for a double leg takedown. Xenox defends it nicely.
Stephenson shoots in looking for a takedown but Xenox manages to keep the fight standing, pushing Stephenson's face into the canvas for good measure before circling away.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Erasmo Stephenson. That's going to take a lot out of him.

Xenox fakes an overhand right and shoots for a takedown. Stephenson sprawls well initially but Xenox persists and gets the takedown into half guard.
Stephenson is trying to get back to full guard.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Stephenson moves his hips nicely and gets into full guard.
Xenox stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Stephenson swivels though and keeps the full guard.

Stephenson had isolated an arm as going for a kimura. Xenox defends it easily.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Stephenson is looking for a triangle here but Xenox uses the submission attempt to pass into side control.
Xenox is looking to take a break and control but Stephenson is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so.
Xenox cracks Stephenson with a big elbow.

Stephenson is looking to regain half guard here but Xenox keeps moving and retains side control.
Stephenson manages to get back to half guard.

Xenox looks towards his corner to check for any instructions. The corner give him nothing to work with, so he cracks Stephenson with a short hammerfist. I guess that's as good as any advice he could get in this position.
Stephenson is looking to get full guard. It looks like he might be successful but at the last minute Xenox jumps into side control!
Stephenson takes an elbow right on the bridge of the nose and winces in pain.

Oh Stephenson is still in real trouble! Will he be able to recover?!!

The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult.
Xenox is trying to land an Americana. He has the arm isolated but Stephenson is keeping cool and he's avoided the danger for now.

Xenox tries for an arm triangle. That looks pretty tight to me. Is this one over!?! Possibly, maybe, no Xenox has let go of the choke. Obviously it wasn't as tight as we thought!

Stephenson wants to improve his position, back to half guard but Xenox has ideas of his own. He's got hold of Stephenson's far side arm and it looks like he's got an Americana. Ohh! Ohhhh! OOOOOOOOOH! A human being's arm is not meant to bend like that! Stephenson is tapping like a morse code operator on the Titanic! SOS SOS! He's out of here! Great win for Xenox!

Xilef Xenox bigged himself up after the win. The crowd seemed to love it.
