Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Waylon Mercy (ranked 1692 p4p, 211 weight class) and Magnus Pyke (ranked 3077 p4p, 331 weight class). Pyke has chosen Magnus Pyke as his entrance music. Fingers crossed for an exciting fight - I'm sure both fighters are looking for a nice under the table bonus!

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Mercy wants to slow Pyke down by chopping away at his legs.
Mercy misses with a hook
and Mercy takes a counter punch right on the button for his troubles.
Mercy throws a wild combination but nothing lands.
Pyke throws out a counter right but Mercy avoids it with no problem.
Pyke works the jab nicely.
Pyke gets his head snapped back by a nice shot there.

Mercy takes a solid shot to the body. That one hurt him but he's trying not to show it.
Both fighters circling a little - Pyke finishes the exchange with a kick to the body.

Pyke does a little shimmy and throws a leg kick. The leg kick missed by a considerable margin though, making him look a little bit silly for doing the shimmy.

It looks like Magnus Pyke has been cut.
This has been an exciting period of action!
Pyke throws a hard body shot but it just misses.
Mercy misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.
Mercy cracks a nice hook into Pyke's ribs.

Pyke tries for an arm triangle. That looks pretty tight to me. Is this one over!?! Possibly, maybe, no Pyke has let go of the choke. Obviously it wasn't as tight as we thought!

Mercy is working hard to escape and get back to his feet. After a battle for position, Pyke asserts his dominance and retains side control.

Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.

Pyke is looking to finish here, going for an Americana. Mercy knows the correct defense though, so he's OK.
Mercy tries to work a leg under to get back to half guard but Pyke wriggles his own leg back out and remains in side control.

The fighters are going at a pretty good pace and they're both starting to sweat now.

Mercy rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but Pyke moves out of range and avoids them all easily.
Mercy throws a jab to the body, straight down the pipe. Boom. That sent Pyke stumbling backwards but he manages to regain his composure quickly.

Pyke throws a lazy right hand but Mercy sees it coming a mile off and sidesteps it easily.

and Pyke counters with a leg kick that reverborates around the arena.
Mercy lands with a thumping leg kick.
Nice defenses there by Pyke.
Pyke wants to counter with a clinch but Mercy pushes him away.
Mercy circles to his right before unloading a perfect head kick! Pyke drops to the canvas, hurt badly! Mercy follows Pyke to the ground and unloads with a series of strikes that force the referee to step in and end the fight! This one is all over!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:24 of round 3, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Waylon Mercy!
Waylon Mercy was full of energy after the big win and talked about how he thinks he can do big things in this sport. The crowd were appreciative of his determination to succeed.
Magnus Pyke spoke after the fight, saying 'If it squirms, it's biology. If it stinks, it's chemistry. If it doesn't work, it's physics. And if you can't understand it, it's mathamatics.'.
