PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Boris Bulletzowich (ranked 1472 p4p, 186 weight class) and Power Shark (ranked 1237 p4p, 163 weight class). Bulletzowich comes to the cage accompanied by THUNDERCAT - THEM CHANGES. On his way into the cage it seems that Boris Bulletzowich has been attacked by a crazed fan! It looks like it might have been the just bleed guy! Luckily Boris Bulletzowich seems to be OK! I thought that lunatic was in prison!?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 21 - 12 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Boris Bulletzowich!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 16 - 10 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Power Shark!
The judges for this bout are Paul Tew, Daniel Bishop and Chris Edwards.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Bulletzowich clobbers Shark with an overhand right that has the crowd gasping. That made a horrendous noise.
Bulletzowich lunges in with swinging rights and lefts but Shark circles away quickly and effectively.
A big right from Shark misses.
Bulletzowich fakes a head shot and lands one to the body.
Bulletzowich slips in close and lands a nice hook before moving back out of range.
Shark misses with a body shot. Nice footwork from Bulletzowich.
Shark is looking to chop away at Bulletzowich's legs.
Bulletzowich feinted with a counter takedown.
Shark throws a hook to the body but it doesn't connect.
Bulletzowich will have to do better than that with his takedown attempts.
And an attempted straight right on the counter from Shark! But no joy.
Bulletzowich has been talking about how he's improved his wrestling in the run up to the fight so let's see if that's enough to sway the balance.
Shark throws out a loose jab but Bulletzowich uses good head movement to avoid it.
Bulletzowich throws a monster uppercut resembling something out of street fighter but it doesn't land.
Shark is trying to counter with his kicks.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Shark throws a quick inside leg kick.
Shark tries to clinch up.
It looked like Bulletzowich wanted to counter with a hook but didn't fully commit.

A shot to the body from Shark misses

and Bulletzowich counters with a shoot takedown. Shark fights it but they end up in guard.
Hammerfist, elbow! yells Bulletzowich's corner. There ya go! There ya go!
Bulletzowich is frustrating his opponent with some stalling tactics from top position.
Shark has a closed guard, preventing anything of note from happening. Perhaps he's looking to stall.
Bulletzowich cracks Shark with a solid left hand.

Bulletzowich throwing shots but missing, from side control.
Bulletzowich throws a strike aimed at the side of Shark's head but Shark avoids it well.
Shark managing to avoid any damage from the strikes thrown by Bulletzowich.
Bulletzowich throws a knee to the body but it doesn't do much damage.
Bulletzowich cracks Shark with a big right hand but Shark just smiles back at him and invites him to have another go.

Bulletzowich is working Shark over with some ground and pound from side control.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Shark takes a couple of big shots there - the referee warns him that he has to defend himself better.
Shark is not content to let Bulletzowich control the position.
Bulletzowich in side control lands a nice looking series of punches and elbows.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
Bulletzowich is looking to take a break and control but Shark is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.
Bulletzowich postures up a little and throws a couple of hammerfists but they don't connect properly.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.
Bulletzowich in side control, trying to ground and pound but not landing this time.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Shark is looking for a sweep.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action!


A looping hook to the body misses from Shark. Bulletzowich does a little dance to reset his feet.

Bulletzowich throws a hook but Shark avoids it easily.
Bulletzowich lands an overhand right.
Bulletzowich tries to check a leg kick but that clearly hurt him.

and Shark counters with a straight right hand.
Shark goes for a high kick. It partially lands.
Shark comes forward and lands a shot to the body, then darts back out of range.
Shark throws an uppercut from half a mile away. Bulletzowich sees it coming and avoids it easily.
Shark looks to land a right hand but Bulletzowich moved out of range.
Bulletzowich tries to check a leg kick but that clearly hurt him.
Bulletzowich steps to the side to avoid the strikes from Shark.
Bulletzowich takes a kick to the side of the head.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
Shark throws a nice outside leg kick.

Shark uses some good footwork to avoid the body shot by Bulletzowich.
Shark misses with a wild body shot.
Bulletzowich shoots in but no luck this time.
Bulletzowich misses with a looping right.
Bulletzowich steps to the side to avoid the strikes from Shark.
Bulletzowich moves out of range of the leg kick from Shark.

Bulletzowich gets a takedown into half guard.
Shark tries to roll over but Bulletzowich keeps him under control.
Bulletzowich is just sitting in half guard, waiting for something to happen.

Bulletzowich winds up and cracks Shark with a swinging punch to the side of the head.
Bulletzowich has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.

Bulletzowich working some ground and pound from close in. He's looking to maintain this position and strike for a while by the looks of things... although he'll probably advance to full mount in a minute now I've said that.
The two fighters exchange a few words. I couldn't hear what they were saying but maybe it's more fun if you make it up yourself. Bulletzowich connects with a nice short shot to Shark's temple.

Bulletzowich wants to free his trapped foot but Shark is holding on for dear life with his legs.

Shark tries to roll over but Bulletzowich keeps him under control.
Bulletzowich is keeping good posture, landing some ground and pound.

Shark won't allow Bulletzowich to pass to mount.
Bulletzowich is taking a breather. Shark says something to him but it's hard to make out. Perhaps he's telling him to get on with it and actually do something.
Bulletzowich drops an elbow to the side of Shark's head.

The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action. Let's hear some noise people - this is the final round!

Bulletzowich shoots in for a takedown from distance. He catches Shark napping and manages to drive through into side control!
Bulletzowich is really dominating this fight. Is there anything that Shark can do to turn this around?

Shark felt the need to train up his defensive grappling in the buildup to the fight. Presumably he was expecting to be in a difficult position like this, so let's see if he can get out of it.
Bulletzowich throwing ground and pound but whilst doing so, he forgets to control position and Shark works his way back to half guard. Good composure under pressure.
Bulletzowich wants to control but Shark is keeping him busy.
Shark really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Bulletzowich. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.

The referee has motioned to the fighters to stand back up. He just wasn't happy with the level of activity.
Power Shark has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here!

A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace.

Shark has taken the fight to the clinch.
Shark lands with a right to the head.
Bulletzowich blocks a couple of punches on the inside.
A battle for position here, against the cage.
Shark lands a short shot on the inside that snaps the head of Bulletzowich backwards.
Bulletzowich misses with a punch to the body.
Shark lands a right hand.
Bulletzowich stalls.
Shark misses with the head strike.
Bulletzowich is looking for a takedown.
Good anti-grappling being displayed by Shark as Bulletzowich tries to tie him up.

Shark works on Bulletzowich's body with a couple of short punches.
Shark struggles to land a body shot inside as Bulletzowich controls his hands.
Bulletzowich tries to pull guard but Shark won't allow it.
Bulletzowich tries to break the clinch but Shark is controlling the position.
Shark prevents a takedown attempt there.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Boris Bulletzowich. That's going to take a lot out of him.

Shark escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.
Bulletzowich is pinned up against the cage taking some big shots here. The referee is looking closely deciding whether he should stop the fight.

Bulletzowich walks straight into a jab right on the nose. That one stung - he's blinking and trying to clear his head.

Shark steps in looking to counter with the mid kick but it doesn't connect.
This has been an exciting period of action!

Bulletzowich throws a hook to the body but it doesn't connect.
Shark circles away from the clinch attempt.
Bulletzowich swings wildly with a couple of big hooks
and Shark counters with a leg kick that reverborates around the arena.
Shark keeping a good distance there, avoiding the body shot.
A little jabbing left from Shark on the counter but it doesn't find it's target.
Bulletzowich throws a body shot but no joy.
Bulletzowich throws a right hand that misses
and Shark counters with a good right hand that lands right on the jaw.
A combination from Bulletzowich does no damage.
Bulletzowich avoids the head kick by Shark.
Bulletzowich swings wildly with a right hand that was never going to find it's target.
Shark moves out of range as Bulletzowich strikes.
Boris Bulletzowich is fighting for a decision here - he's started to take the cautious approach.

Bulletzowich shoots in from a long way out. He's driving through with the takedown attempt and he eventually gets it, landing in Shark's guard.

And that's the end of the fight!
I would just about give that final round to Power Shark.
I think Bulletzowich has won this one but let's see what the judges have to say. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
