Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Kaiser Sosa!
The judges for this bout are Edson Gomes, Daniel Cesar and Leandro Rodrigues.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Sosa drives through with a takedown into guard.
Sosa trying to control the position from guard on top but Roth is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.
Roth has Sosa pulled in close to control his posture.
Sosa won't allow Roth to sweep him here.
Roth knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Sosa on the ground.
Sosa wants to control from the top but Roth keeps moving.

Sosa drops back, looking for a kneebar! Roth looks panicked! The fighters roll across the mat, one looking to finish, one looking to escape. Roth looks to have wriggled free... Yes, he's got his leg free and he's dived into side control! Good work there from Roth!

We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
You can see the frustration on Sosa's face as Roth controls the position.
Sosa sneaks a leg under to get back to half guard.

Sosa is looking to sinch up a guillotine here but Roth pulls his head out easily.

Roth tries to stand and escape but Sosa is controlling the position.
Sosa slips a foot under and gets full guard. Nice work.
Sosa looking for a sweep. Not yet Sosa, not yet.
Sosa is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move.

Roth is looking to escape.

Sosa stands up out of the half guard.

Sosa shoots in looking for a single leg takedown. Roth is trying to defend but Sosa finishes it well and ends up in half guard. Let's see if he can advance position further.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Sosa has control of Roth's right arm, working for a kimura. It's a bit of a token attempt though and Roth regains control of the situation pretty easily.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!

Sosa is trying to work for a kimura. This could be trouble! No, Roth has managed to free his arm - good work.
Sosa works his way into side control.
Sosa trying to control the position but Roth is working away.

Roth wants to control but Sosa postures up.

Sosa wants to work for a kimura but he's foiled early by Roth, who protects the arm well.
Roth is not content to let Sosa control the position.

Sosa is looking for a kimura. He might have it! No, Roth has escaped the position, nice work there.
Sosa tries to land with some ground and pound but misses.

The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action!

Roth drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and Roth jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position.

Sosa is working actively off his back, looking to secure an arm or perhaps work for a triangle.
Sosa bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in Roth's guard.

Roth really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape.

Roth wants to stand up but Sosa is controlling him.
Hammerfist, elbow! yells Sosa's corner. There ya go! There ya go!
Roth is controlling Sosa's posture.
Sosa wants to control from the top but Roth keeps moving.
Sosa is looking to work some ground and pound but Roth has wrist control.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Roth has his hands on Sosa's head, controlling the position.
Sosa wants to control from the top but Roth keeps moving.
Roth will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions.

We've had a lack of effective grappling in the last minute or so, which could well see a referee standup.
Roth preventing the ground and pound from doing any damage.
Sosa distracts Roth with his right hand and drops a big elbow with his other arm.
Roth looking to hit a scissor sweep but Sosa is one step ahead there.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.
Roth avoiding any damage from the ground and pound.
Sosa looking to sit in guard and control but Roth gets the butterfly guard and sweeps. He's now in the guard on the top.

Roth controls the pace of the fight for a moment.

Roth avoids a guillotine attempt easily.

Roth got a little sloppy there for a moment and Sosa has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Roth has managed to get both his arms back between Sosa's legs - danger averted.
Sosa lands a beautiful sweep and he's now moved into his opponent's guard.

Sosa wants to control from the top but Roth keeps moving.
Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out!

Sosa drops back, looking for a kneebar! Roth looks panicked! The fighters roll across the mat, one looking to finish, one looking to escape. Roth looks to have wriggled free... Yes, he's got his leg free and he's dived into side control! Good work there from Roth!

And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

A close second round but Kaiser Sosa will probably get the nod - 10:9.
That's time! Roth's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight. This is the final round!

Roth is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.

Roth working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Sosa doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Sosa manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem.
Both fighters are breathing heavily.
Sosa wants to control from the top but Roth keeps moving.
Roth is controlling Sosa's posture.

The referee has stepped in and called for a break in the action. We'll restart on the feet.

Sosa is actively looking for submissions from his back. He's worked himself a little space on the bottom and seems to be going for a triangle. No, he's switched into an armbar! That was slick! Roth rolls with it to try and escape but Sosa cranks on the arm and Roth is forced to tap out! This one is aaaaaaaaall over!
