Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Renato Laranja (ranked 4063 p4p, 412 weight class) and Brad Cubbedge (ranked 2603 p4p, 292 weight class). Laranja comes to the ring accompanied by Sangue Do Laranja. These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Laranja attempts a low kick but it misses it's target.

Cubbedge cracks Laranja with a nice right hand that draws applause from the crowd.
Cubbedge looks more muscular than last time we saw him. He must have been on the weights.
Laranja tries for a takedown but Cubbedge sees it coming a mile off and avoids it easily.

Laranja wants to take the fight to the mat but Cubbedge manages to get underhooks and keep the fight in the clinch.

Cubbedge jumps guard and drags Laranja to the mat. He's obviously going to be looking for submissions off his back.
The fighters are trapped in the ropes so we're going to have a reposition here. The ref calls for a break and repositions the fighters in the center of the ring.

After the fight, Renato Laranja was humble in paying tribute to his opponent but made it clear he wants to go on to bigger and better things. It seemed to go down well with the crowd who cheered him loudly.
