Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Marko Weider (ranked 3583 p4p, 331 weight class) and Hugh Glass (ranked 24189 p4p, 505 weight class). Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 4 - 1 - 0, fighting out of London, Marko Weider!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Hugh Glass!
The judges for this bout are Daniel Bishop, William Gold and James Glass.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Weider rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but Glass moves out of range and avoids them all easily.
Glass appears to be waiting to throw a counter punch to the body.
Glass throws a body kick despite being completely out of range

and Weider counters with a shoot takedown. Glass fights it but they end up in guard.
Weider preventing the sweep.
Weider wants to control from the top but Glass keeps moving.
Weider wants to pass the guard but Glass is keeping the position.
Weider passes Glass's right leg, so he's now in half guard.
Weider keeping composed on the top, looking to control the action.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Weider is looking for a kimura but Glass is holding onto that half guard position, so it's hard for Weider to get the leverage.

Weider is sneakily working for an arm triangle but Glass sees it coming and defends easily.
Weider is keen to just control but Glass is a slippery customer.

Weider is trying for a guillotine from the top but the pressure isn't in the right place so Glass is just riding it out for now. Weider eventually gives up the hold.

Weider swings around for an armbar but it's a sloppy attempt and Glass is now in Weider's guard. A big mistake from Weider there, giving up the dominant position!

Glass stands up and waves to Weider to follow him.

Weider tries to pull guard but can't drag his opponent to the mat. Glass just stands there and leans against the cage.
A quick uppercut on the inside from Glass.
Weider keeps the fight in the clinch, despite Glass's efforts to push away.
Weider is working for takedown but Glass is calmly controlling the position for now.
Weider jumps guard but his hands slip and he falls flat on his back. Well, he's made himself look a right mug there, as Glass walks away with a smile on his face. Weider gets slowly back to his feet and shakes his head.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Marko Weider. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Glass throws a head kick that misses.
A counter left hand to the body from Weider misses its target.
Glass lets the fists fly and connects with a left straight followed by a right hook.
Glass lands three nice shots there - that looked like it hurt!

Glass tries to clinch but Weider is having none of it.
Weider attempts a counter takedown but Glass avoids it well and moves away.
Glass is looking to land body kicks.
Weider uses decent footwork to sidestep a right hand from Glass.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!

Ooooh, nice body kick lands from Glass. Weider shrugs it off though.

Glass has been the more effective fighter overall so far.
Glass showing good head movement there, avoiding the strikes from Weider.

Weider takes a big uppercut there. He seems a bit wobbly but no, he's OK.

Weider misses with a short punch on the inside.
Glass lands with a short head shot on the inside.

Glass breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat.
Weider takes a push kick to the midsection and stumbles backwards.

The crowd are loving this. Great action here.

Weider closes the distance and pushes Glass back into the cage.
A short right hand to the side of the head by Glass.

Weider jumps into guard, dragging Glass to the mat.
Glass wants to control from the top but Weider keeps moving.

Weider is throwing his legs up, looking for submissions. Glass is aware though and is defending well.
Glass wants to get up but he can't break Weider's closed guard. He needs to be careful trying to break the legs open, as he's open to submissions here.

Glass avoids a guillotine attempt easily.

Glass got a little sloppy there for a moment and Weider has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Glass has managed to get both his arms back between Weider's legs - danger averted.

Glass really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Weider. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.

Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.

Marko Weider overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far.

That was a close round. You could make an argument for either fighter but I would give it to Marko Weider.
I think Glass has won this one but let's see whether the judges agree with me. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
