PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a super heavyweight MMA rules bout between Vinnie Sixx (ranked 3272 p4p, 88 weight class) and Oscar Meyer (ranked 3712 p4p, 130 weight class). Sixx's entrance music is The Fire of Power by WATAIN. A fine choice. Well, the cameraman is lingering on a pretty young lady for a bit too long there. Keep your eyes on the prize buddy or you'll miss the fighter intros!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the super heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 8 - 13 - 0, fighting out of New York, Vinnie Sixx!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 8 - 10 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Oscar Meyer!
The judges for this bout are Jack Bonds, Frank Antenori and Don Winkell.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Meyer has his head slapped from side to side by a 3 punch combination. That must have hurt him.
Sixx has been working on his boxing with his coaches at Touch Of Death Combat Academy in the buildup to the fight.
Sixx rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but Meyer moves out of range and avoids them all easily.
Meyer avoids the body shot from Sixx.
Meyer fails miserably with a takedown attempt.
Sixx scores with a nice looking left hook and follows it up with an uppercut!
Sixx throws a body punch but Meyer moves out of range.
Meyer fails to land the takedown.
Sixx lunges in with swinging rights and lefts but Meyer circles away quickly and effectively.
Meyer tries to drive through with a takedown attempt but Sixx defends well and Meyer ends up having to push Sixx into the cage where they will battle it out in the clinch.
Vinnie Sixx has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Oscar Meyer.
A clash of legs there as Meyer blocks the low kick.
Meyer with the counter takedown but Sixx avoids it easily.
Sixx throws a hook but Meyer avoids it easily.
Horrible takedown attempt by Meyer or perhaps it was just good defense by Sixx, which made it look bad.
Meyer misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.
Meyer checks a leg kick.
Meyer looks more muscular than last time we saw him. He must have been on the weights.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
Sixx feints and then cracks Meyer's leading leg with a nice low kick. He's obviously looking to slow Meyer down.
Sixx misses with a jab, cross combination.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Meyer has his hands up protecting his head but a hook from Sixx finds it's way round the side to connect with Meyer's head.
Vinnie Sixx is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.
Meyer on the wrong end of a nice hook.
Sixx fakes a jab and then connects with a hook.
Meyer takes an uppercut right on the jaw but it doesn't phase him.
Sixx lets the fists fly and connects with a left straight followed by a right hook.
Nice defenses there by Meyer.
Meyer slips a jab from Sixx.
Meyer tries to counter with a clinch but Sixx shakes him off and moves away.
Meyer slips under a jab from Sixx.
Meyer tries to clinch but Sixx moves out of range.
Sixx misses with a series of wild punches.
Sixx lands a head shot.
Danga de danga de dang - Sixx scores with a four punch combination!
This has been an exciting period of action!
Sixx throws a low kick but Meyer moves out of range easily.
Sixx throws a couple of head shots and lands with the final one - a decent hook, which struck Meyer on the side of the head.
A combination from Sixx does no damage.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Meyer gets cracked there but stands up to it.
Sixx lands a slapping body shot.
Sixx swings away with a leg kick that misses.
Meyer tries to counter by closing the distance.

Meyer gets to the clinch - let's see what his plan is here.
Sixx swings away with an uppercut that misses.
Sixx tries to score a body lock takedown but Meyer shows good agility there to stay on his feet.
Meyer gets underhooks to prevent Sixx's takedown attempt.
A battle for position here, against the cage.
Meyer is trying to pull guard but Sixx turns him against the cage and we stay in the clinch.
Meyer lands a nice knee to the body.
Meyer prevents a body shot from Sixx.
Sixx tries to land knees in the clinch but Meyer avoids the damage to the body.
Sixx creates a bit of space for himself and sneaks an elbow through Meyer's defenses.
Sixx has Meyer pressed up against the cage and is working for takedown. Meyer manages to improve position though and keeps the fight standing.
Meyer is trying to drag Sixx to the mat but Sixx just about manages to keep his footing. He used the cage to his advantage there.
Sixx is working hard here but doesn't seem to be able to control effectively, up against the cage.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Sixx stalling.
Sixx has dropped down and is looking to force the takedown but it's defended by Meyer after a bit of a struggle.
The two fighters are working to gain dominance in the clinch.
Meyer is defending well against a takedown attempt.

Meyer breaks the clinch.
Meyer shoots in for a takedown but doesn't get it.
Vinnie Sixx seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Sixx throws a chopping leg kick but Meyer manages to avoid taking any serious damage.
Meyer checks the leg kick nicely there.
Sixx attempts a leg kick but it's missed by a good margin.
Sixx fails to land with a series of punches.
Meyer tries a switch kick but it misses it's target.
Meyer shoots in looking for a double leg takedown. Sixx defends it nicely.
Meyer ducks under a wild hook from Sixx.
Sixx sets himself, and Meyer steps forward looking for the clinch! Sixx avoids it this time.
Sixx misses with a low kick.
Meyer tries a counter takedown but it's more of a dummy move, and he uses it to push himself away.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
Meyer tries to clinch but is not successful on this occasion.
Sixx throws a monster uppercut resembling something out of street fighter but it doesn't land.
Meyer goes for a double leg but Sixx avoids the attempt and the two fighters end up clinched against the cage as Sixx continues to drive forward.
Meyer is pinned up against the cage taking some big shots here. The referee is looking closely deciding whether he should stop the fight.
Sixx throws out a loose jab but Meyer uses good head movement to avoid it.
Meyer takes a jab on the nose. He smiles like he loves it and keeps coming.
Sixx scores with a punch to the head.
Sixx throws an overhand right that lands on Meyer's shoulder, as Meyer tries to avoid the shot.
Sixx scores with a punch to the gut of his opponent.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Sixx throws a right and a left that both miss.

The fight moves into the clinch position.
Meyer lands a short shot on the inside that snaps the head of Sixx backwards.
Sixx will no doubt start fighting again in a minute but for now he's just having a little rest, leaning Meyer up against the cage.
Meyer is defending well against a takedown attempt.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Vinnie Sixx dominated that round.
The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business.


Sixx buckles his opponent's knee momentarily with a nice leg kick.
Crack! A monster head kick from Meyer and Sixx falls like a tree - timbeeeeeeeeeeerrrr! A highlight reel knockout by Meyer!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 0:09 of round 2, we have a winner by way of KO (Head Kick). Oscar Meyer!
