Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Red Cup (ranked 7083 p4p, 461 weight class) and Aurora Borealis (ranked 19891 p4p, 491 weight class). Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 7 - 14 - 1, fighting out of Las Vegas, Red Cup!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 3 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Aurora Borealis!
The judges for this bout are Chris Downing, Alan Glass and George Francis.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Borealis ducks under a wild hook from Cup.
Cup blocks a low kick nicely.
Borealis slips under a jab.
Borealis checks a low kick from Cup.
And Borealis tries to counter it with a takedown but Cup pushes his down on his head and steps out.

Borealis closes the distance and gets a double leg, slamming Cup to the mat! Cup manages to get full guard.
Borealis looking to sit in guard and control but Cup gets the butterfly guard and sweeps. He's now in the guard on the top.

Cup pushes down on Borealis's leg and manages to get into half guard.
Borealis is looking for a sweep. Cup is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Cup is trying for a guillotine from the top but the pressure isn't in the right place so Borealis is just riding it out for now. Cup eventually gives up the hold.
Borealis has no desire to be mounted, so is trying to control. Cup is working away from the top position though.
Borealis is refusing to be controlled, as Cup sits in half guard.
Still in half guard, Cup seems content to control.

The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.

Cup clinches up with Borealis and pushes him back against the cage.

Cup has his head snapped back a nice jab. A little nod from Cup there as he acknowledges the shot.

Borealis closes the distance and after a bit of a stuggle, scores a takedown into Cup's guard.

Cup got a little sloppy there for a moment and Borealis has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Cup has managed to get both his arms back between Borealis's legs - danger averted.
Cup stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Borealis swivels though and keeps the full guard.
Cup works a leg free and moves into half guard.
Cup seems content to maintain position for now, rather than mounting any offense.
Borealis won't allow Cup to pass to mount.

That's the end of the round. The referee orders the cornermen out of the cage so we can get back down to business.
