Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 8 - 9 - 0, fighting out of New York, Marcus Harris!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 6 - 20 - 0, fighting out of New York, Jacob Matousek!
The judges for this bout are Chad Campbell, Jorge Garcia and Columbo Gatti.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Matousek fails with the takedown.
Harris was looking to counter that move with a punch but didn't quite pull the trigger.
Matousek looks really tired already! That doesn't bode well for a good, competitive fight!
Matousek misses with a lunging right hand

and Harris counters with a shoot takedown. Matousek fights it but they end up in guard.
Harris stays in close to Matousek's body and controls the position.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Harris's ground tactics aren't going to win him many fans. Let's hope he's got fireworks for us if he gets back to his feet because he's not doing much on the ground.
Harris seems to have a rather negative gameplan on the ground. He seems keen to just score the takedown and hold down Matousek for as long as he can get away with.

The referee has motioned to the fighters to stand back up. He just wasn't happy with the level of activity.

The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so.
Matousek throws a combination but comes up with nothing but fresh air.
Harris swings and misses with a hook to the body.
Matousek shoots in for a takedown but Harris shows good takedown defense there and keeps this one on the feet.

A momentary lapse in concentration from Matousek enables Harris to shoot in and score with a neat double leg. Matousek manages to secure a closed guard as the fighters hit the mat.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
If it seems like I'm not saying a lot, it's just because Harris is stinking the place up with his stalling.
Harris might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground.

Matousek not looking particularly offensive just at the moment.
Harris is just sitting in guard, looking to avoid any submissions.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
My god... these two guys really need to pick up the pace or everyone will leave to go get a beer.

Harris drives through with a really nice takedown into side control.
Harris in side control, just content to control the action for now.
Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out!
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Marcus Harris dominated that round.
The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action!


Matousek shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Harris as he jumps to the side.
Harris seemed to be looking to counter by closing the distance.
Matousek shoots in looking for a double leg takedown. Harris defends it nicely.
Harris is really dominating this fight. Is there anything that Matousek can do to turn this around?

Harris decides to change it up a bit and drives through with a nice takedown into half guard.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Matousek is breathing heavily.
Matousek is trying to stand back up but Harris is controlling him

Harris looking for a kimura but he'll have to free his other leg if he wants to finish that. Perhaps he's just using it as a distraction technique.

There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.
Harris seems content to maintain position for now, rather than mounting any offense.

That's three minutes gone in the round.

The ref stands the fighters back up due to a lack of activity.

Harris gets a clinch.
Matousek is pressed up against the cage. Harris has hold of a leg and is looking to drag Matousek down to the mat. Matousek avoids the attempt though and has circled away. We're back to striking at a distance.
Harris stuffs a takedown. It's all about dictating where the fight takes place and Harris wants it to stay on the feet.
Marcus Harris has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Jacob Matousek.

Harris bobs and weaves into range and then changes levels and scores with a nice takedown into side control.
Matousek is looking to get back to his feet here but Harris is keeping cool and he's managed to take Matousek's back.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
Harris just keeping the dominant position. He can't wait too long though, otherwise the referee will stand them back up.

Harris has his arm under Matousek's chin here. Game over son! Harris squeezes tightly and Matousek is forced to tap out!
