Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 9 - 3 - 0, fighting out of The Island, Jambe De Bois!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 2 - 0 - 0, fighting out of The Island, Stig Tuft!
The judges for this bout are Bart Greer, Peter Branson and Daniel Franklin.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Tuft walks into a left hand.
De Bois scores with a hook.
Tuft shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts De Bois as he jumps to the side.
De Bois changes levels looking for a counter takedown but doesn't commit.
De Bois lands the left hand.
De Bois clobbers Tuft with an overhand right that has the crowd gasping. That made a horrendous noise.
De Bois lands a vicious shot with the stealth of a sniper and the strength of a viper. Are vipers that strong? I can think of lots of things that are stronger than a viper - not many rhyme with sniper though.

De Bois feints and as Tuft raises his hands in defense, De Bois changes levels and drives through with a takedown into guard.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
De Bois content to strike from guard, landing some decent shots.
De Bois chips away with some ground and pound.
De Bois throws a strike but Tuft rolls with it and manages to sweep. Now he's in guard on top.

De Bois is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.

De Bois seems keen to control rather than go for a submission, at least for now.

Tuft postures up as if he's going to throw some strikes but drops back for an ankle! De Bois is in big trouble! He looks ready to tap! But no, he's escaped and dives on top of Tuft, into his guard.

De Bois tries to free his leg and advance position but Tuft is retaining full guard.

Tuft lands a beautiful sweep and he's now moved into his opponent's guard.

De Bois pulls Tuft in close to his closed guard and prevents Tuft from doing any damage or advancing position.

De Bois on his back here. We all know that wrestlers don't like being on their back so let's see if De Bois tries to get out of the position.

Tuft drops back, looking for a kneebar! De Bois looks panicked! The fighters roll across the mat, one looking to finish, one looking to escape. De Bois looks to have wriggled free... Yes, he's got his leg free and he's dived into side control! Good work there from De Bois!

Tuft can't do much from the bottom here.
We've been hearing that De Bois has been drilling a lot of ground and pound in training, so let's see if he get the finish.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
De Bois remains in side control and seems content to stay there. It's a versatile position from which he can work both strikes and submissions, whilst maintaining that control, so maybe he'll sit here for a while.
De Bois wants to lay and pray for a moment but Tuft keeps working.
Tuft manages to get back to half guard.
Tuft is trying to maintain the position but De Bois is very close to passing his half guard.
De Bois is working hard to pass the guard. He's done it - he's now in full mount! Trouble for Tuft!
De Bois lands a couple of good shots and Tuft has given up his back, trying to escape the position!

That's four minutes gone in the round.
You can see the frustration on Tuft's face… He knows he is in trouble unless he improves his position sooner rather than later.

Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

Tuft is rocked!
De Bois is loading up with his shots from the back and Tuft is in big trouble! Tuft taps out to strikes and the fight is over!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 4:46 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (Strikes). Jambe De Bois!
Jambe De Bois decided to go for the less than humble approach in his post fight interview, telling everyone how he is going to conquer the world. The crowd seemed to like it when really that sort of approach could have gone either way.
