Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Reggie Hutchinson (ranked 2621 p4p, 326 weight class) and Young Lad (ranked 564 p4p, 83 weight class). I can't wait for this one - let's get the fighter introductions out of the way and get this one started!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 5 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Reggie Hutchinson!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 16 - 5 - 0, fighting out of London, Young Lad!
The judges for this bout are George Francis, Stewart Dunkirk and Chris Downing.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Hutchinson drives through with a really nice takedown into side control.

Hutchinson is trying to land an Americana. He has the arm isolated but Lad is keeping cool and he's avoided the danger for now.

Hutchinson tries for a kimura but Lad is defending well.

Hutchinson decides to stand up, so the ref orders Lad to his feet.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

and Lad counters with a nice uppercut.

Hutchinson looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? Lad is fending him off so far but Hutchinson persists. Nope, Lad circles away and we're back to standing.

Hutchinson shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Lad pinned against the ropes. Lad gets the underhooks and manages to circle away.

Hutchinson tries to close the distance and clinch but Lad swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away.

Hutchinson thumps the canvas. Not on purpose obviously - he just missed Lad's head.

Hutchinson drops back for a leg but he's not going to get it - he lets go and Lad dives on top into guard.

There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.

A nice side step and Lad releases a counter shot to the body, but it doesn't find it's home.

Lad has found himself in a tricky position here. He's been working his transitions in training so let's see if he can work his way out of it.
