Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Nosmo King (ranked 4962 p4p, 0 weight class) and Kang Desmond (ranked 6794 p4p, 0 weight class). The crowd seem to be enjoying Desmond's choice of entrance music: Take a step back. Rumors backstage are that the fighters have been paid to keep it standing but we know that would never happen in MMA!

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
King closes this distance looking for a takedown but Desmond circles away.
King avoids the head kick by Desmond.
King fails with a rather predictable takedown attempt.

Desmond has managed to clinch.

Desmond breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat.
King throws a head kick that connects with a bit of head and a bit of hand.
King shoots in looking for a double leg takedown. Desmond defends it nicely.

Desmond dives in and scores a takedown into King's guard.

King wriggles free and stands up.

Desmond lunges in with swinging rights and lefts but King circles away quickly and effectively.

Desmond drops King with a beautiful combination! King stares up at his opponent, who ushers him back to his feet - Desmond is looking for the KO!

It looks like Nosmo King has been cut.
King is breathing heavily.

The crowd are loving this. Great action here.
King tries for a takedown but Desmond sees it coming a mile off and avoids it easily.
Oh King is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!!
Desmond throws a right hand that King ducks under and follows up with a left that King also avoids with ease.
King seems to have got his legs back now.
King closes the distance and clinches up with Desmond, looking for a takedown. King pushes Desmond against the cage but Desmond circles to the side and manages to break the clinch.
Desmond misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.

Desmond fakes with an overhand right and moves in to clinch with King, pushing him back against the cage.
Desmond blocks a knee to the body. He'll have a nicely bruised forearm in the morning.

King escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.

and Desmond counters with a crisp one two that drops King! Desmond thinks about following him to the mat for a moment but instead steps back and waves King to his feet! King is in big trouble!

King seems very keen to just sit and control from half guard but Desmond does not like that idea so much and is remaining active off his back.

King looks towards his corner to check for any instructions. The corner give him nothing to work with, so he cracks Desmond with a short hammerfist. I guess that's as good as any advice he could get in this position.
King is looking to pass the guard... He's managed it - he's now in full mount!

King has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.

King jumps to side control looking for an arm triangle but Desmond manages to avoid the submission attempt.

You can see the frustration on Desmond's face, being in this tough position on the bottom.

There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.

King tries to drive through with a takedown attempt but Desmond defends well and King ends up having to push Desmond into the cage where they will battle it out in the clinch.

Desmond pushes King away and creates a bit of space to escape. He's almost out here... but no, King gets a good hold of his legs and remains firmly in side control.

King moves into range and clinches up with Desmond.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!

King is trying for a guillotine from the top but the pressure isn't in the right place so Desmond is just riding it out for now. King eventually gives up the hold.
