The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Brown gets his takedown attempt stuffed easily
and Gariniho counters with a quick right hand to the jaw.
Brown takes an uppercut right on the button but keeps his composure.
Brown tries for a takedown but Gariniho circles away easily
and Gariniho counters with a crisp hook to the side of the head.

Brown drops down looking to force a counter takedown but Gariniho defends it well.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Brown is rocked!

Neyman Gariniho has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Trey Brown.
Brown shoots in looking for a takedown. Gariniho tries to sprawl out of it but Brown keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Gariniho manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing.

Gariniho clinches up with Brown and pushes him back against the cage.

With the fighters clinched against the cage, Gariniho creates a bit of distance for himself and scores with a nice uppercut.

Brown closes the distance and clinches up, looking for a takedown. He shifts his weight and gets a nice trip into half guard.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

Brown drops back for a leg but he's not going to get it - he lets go and Gariniho dives on top into guard.

Gariniho got a little sloppy there for a moment and Brown has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Gariniho has managed to get both his arms back between Brown's legs - danger averted.

Brown had isolated an arm as going for a kimura. Gariniho defends it easily.

Brown changes levels for a counter takedown but doesn't follow through with his attempt.

Gariniho comes forward and lands a shot to the body, then darts back out of range.
Gariniho goes to the watering hole and comes back with a big thumbs up from the judges as he scores a three punch combo.
Brown is still on wobbly legs! Can Gariniho finish him?
Gariniho scores with a sloppy right hand. Brown should have avoided that one.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
