PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Because I Can (ranked 2091 p4p, 207 weight class) and Noob Saibot (ranked 1530 p4p, 165 weight class). Saibot has chosen TEST YOUR MIGHT as his entrance music. Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 23 - 32 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Because I Can!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 49 - 31 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Noob Saibot!
The judges for this bout are Paulsen Ambrosius, Daniel Blasius and Aafke Stam.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Donk. I Can catches Saibot right on the button with a cross.
I Can lunges in with an uppercut that skims his opponent's chin.
I Can swings for the body but Saibot moves out of range.
I Can definitely looks more muscular than last time we saw him fight.
I Can lands with an overhand left.
Saibot slips a jab and a cross from I Can.
I Can misses with a shot to the body
and Saibot connects with a straight left hand counter down the middle.
I Can throws a jab but it's blocked by Saibot.
I Can lands with an overhand left.
Saibot jabbing away but nothing is landing.
I Can misses the body punch
and Saibot cracks him with a counter punch right on the button.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
Saibot connects with a crisp jab.
I Can shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Saibot but Saibot pushes him off and we're back to square one.
It seemed like Saibot was going to counter with the hook but didn't fully commit to it.
I Can changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Saibot tries to avoid it but I Can manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Saibot to the ground. Saibot escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.
Saibot swings away with a counter right hand but no contact made.
I Can lands a glancing blow to the side of Saibot's head.

I Can shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Saibot as he jumps to the side.
Saibot looks like he wants to counter punch here.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Because I Can. That's going to take a lot out of him.
I Can looks to land a left hand but Saibot moved out of range nicely.
I Can connects with a body shot that sends Saibot's belly button to the back.
I Can blocks a jab.
I Can cracks Saibot with a right hand to the side of the head.
I Can paws at his opponent with the jab and then lunges in with a straight, right on the button.
Saibot uses some good footwork to avoid the body shot by I Can.
I Can looks to score with a jab to the body but Saibot is just out of range.
The fight stays on the outside here - Saibot looks like he's thinking about clinching though.
Saibot takes a jab right on the nose. That must have hurt but he shrugs his shoulders and looks to return the favor.
I Can lands with a cross.

I Can throws a nice hook to the body that draws an oooh from the crowd.
Saibot cracks I Can with a good jab.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!

I Can fakes an overhand right and shoots for a takedown. Saibot sprawls well initially but I Can persists and gets the takedown into half guard.

I Can connects with a couple of short punches.
I Can trying to control the position from guard on top but Saibot is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.

I Can works over Saibot with some ground and pound from guard.
Saibot wants to control the position but I Can says "no thanks buddy" and passes to half guard.

Saibot is not content to let I Can control the position.
I Can is looking to advance position but Saibot won't allow it.
I Can performing his best blanket impression for a moment.
Saibot tries to get to full guard but I Can has control of the leg.
I Can is trying to control the action in half guard but Saibot is working away on the bottom, looking perhaps to get back to full guard.
Saibot wants to improve his position but I Can is controlling well.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
I Can is looking to take a break and control but Saibot is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.

Saibot with poor footwork there. He got himself in a bit of a tangle, enabling I Can to score with a decent uppercut.

I Can is looking for a takedown up against the cage. Saibot gets underhooks though and prevents the takedown attempt.
Saibot throws a punch but it's blocked by I Can.

Saibot has I Can pressed up against the cage. He's trying to work for a single leg takedown. Saibot pulls back from the cage and twists to the side, sending I Can tumbling to the mat - Saibot dives into I Can's guard.

I Can is going to have to think about doing something other than just controlling because Saibot is managing to avoid having the position dictated to him.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
I Can keeping moving, preventing Saibot from controlling successfully.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up.

Noob Saibot showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
The minute break is over - no more time for sponges and pep talks - back to the action! This is the final round!

Saibot tries a counter takedown but it's more of a dummy move, and he uses it to push himself away.
I Can fails miserably with a takedown attempt.
Saibot let fly with a counter punch to the body but it didn't land.
I Can throws a couple of head shots and lands with the final one - a decent hook, which struck Saibot on the side of the head.

Saibot tries for an arm triangle. That looks pretty tight to me. Is this one over!?! Possibly, maybe, no Saibot has let go of the choke. Obviously it wasn't as tight as we thought!

Saibot wants to work for a kimura but he's foiled early by I Can, who protects the arm well.
I Can struggling a bit here.
I Can taking punishment in the form of punches.
Saibot lands some shots froms side control.
I Can manages to work his way to half guard, despite Saibot's best efforts.

Saibot chips away with some ground and pound.

I Can has momentary wrist control but Saibot slips an elbow through the middle.
Oh I Can is still in real trouble! Will he be able to recover?!!
Saibot lands a couple of elbows.
Saibot loads up on a big left hand. I Can felt that one! He's just covering up now, not defending himself intelligently - Saibot looks towards the ref and unloads with 3 more big shots and the ref has no choice but to stop the fight! I Can can't hide his disappointment, as Saibot celebrates the victory.

Ladies and gentlemen, after 3:22 of round 3, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Noob Saibot!
Noob Saibot seemed lost for words in his post fight interview but he remembered to thank his fans and directed everyone to his website.
In defeat, Because I Can stepped up to the mic, saying 'I'm so handsome i'm not surprised this guy was all over me the way he was!'.
