PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Kelly Carter (ranked 5050 p4p, 435 weight class) and Eddie Alpha (ranked 2585 p4p, 280 weight class). Well, I have no idea who's going to take this one!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of New York, Kelly Carter!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 4 - 3 - 0, fighting out of London, Eddie Alpha!
The judges for this bout are Chris Saunders, Roger Salmon and Jeff Smith.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Carter wants to clinch up but Alpha keeps it at a distance.
As Carter backs off Alpha throws a huge counter combo but Carter manages to avoid it all.
The fight stays on the outside here - Carter looks like he's thinking about clinching though.
Alpha misses with a double jab.
As Alpha tries to get set, Carter tries to push him back and clinch up but Alpha manages to avoid the attempt.
Both fighters are looking to counter, which isn't making for the most exciting fight in the world.
Alpha rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but Carter moves out of range and avoids them all easily.
Carter tries to clinch but Alpha moves out of range.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Carter fakes high and shoots in for a takedown but Alpha avoids it really well and circles away.

Carter looks to have improved his striking defense since last time we saw him fight.
Alpha scores with a decent looking hook.
Alpha misses with a takedown attempt. He shot from a bit too far out.
Carter is looking to counter the offense by Alpha and move into the clinch.

Alpha shoots in looking for a takedown but Carter manages to keep the fight standing, pushing Alpha's face into the canvas for good measure before circling away.
Carter drops down looking for a counter takedown but Alpha sprawls and moves away.

Alpha throws a left that rocks Carter and follows with a right that sends him tumbling to the canvas! Alpha dives into side control, looking to finish! Can Carter regain composure!

It looks like Kelly Carter has been cut.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Carter wants to get back to his feet.
Alpha works a knee to the body and follows up with a nice elbow to the head.
Alpha trying to control the action but Carter is working from the bottom.
Carter tries to escape but Alpha is in control.
Alpha sitting in side control, looking to soften his opponent up with elbows and hammerfists but Carter is avoiding damage well and looking to escape the position.

Carter is putting a lot of effort into getting back to his feet here.
Carter is breathing heavily.
Alpha lands some shots froms side control.
Alpha remains in side control and seems content to stay there. It's a versatile position from which he can work both strikes and submissions, whilst maintaining that control, so maybe he'll sit here for a while.

Alpha is trying to land an Americana. He has the arm isolated but Carter is keeping cool and he's avoided the danger for now.

Alpha looks up at the clock and then as Carter takes his cue and looks up at the clock too, Alpha smacks him right in the chops with a big elbow! How rude!

Carter dodges the punch combination from Alpha.
Alpha throws a combination but comes up with nothing but fresh air.

Carter tries to counter by clinching up but Alpha breaks away and moves out of range.
No joy there for Alpha, who threw a few shots but didn't land.

Carter fails with an attempt to clinch.
Alpha lets it all go there with a big combo counter but none of the punches connected.
Carter tries to clinch but Alpha moves away
letting Alpha counter with a right hand.
Alpha misses with a jab and misses with a cross straight after too.
Carter feinted with a counter takedown.
Kelly Carter is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things.

Alpha drops Carter with a left right combo! Alpha follows him down to the ground into side control.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

Oh Carter is still in real trouble! Will he be able to recover?!!

Carter seems to have got his legs back now.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.
Carter is letting Alpha control him for a moment.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Alpha grinds an elbow into Carter's temple.

Alpha controls the position.
Alpha working away diligently from side control. Landing strikes effectively there - that will score him some points on the judges scorecards.
Carter is looking to work his way out of this bad position but Alpha is controlling him well.

Alpha is looking for a kimura. He might have it! No, Carter has escaped the position, nice work there.
Alpha lands a nice forearm strike.
Alpha lands an elbow.
Carter takes a couple of big shots there - the referee warns him that he has to defend himself better.
