Coming up we have a super heavyweight MMA rules bout between Alexey Markov (ranked 2325 p4p, 49 weight class) and Greg Bell (ranked 3274 p4p, 132 weight class). There are an array of beautiful celebrities at ringside tonight! I wonder if any of them paid for their tickets.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the super heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 7 - 9 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Alexey Markov!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 14 - 21 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Greg Bell!
The judges for this bout are Tiny Johnson, Chris Downing and Daniel Franklin.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Markov feints a straight left to the body, then turns around with a flashy move and hits Bells jaw with a dramatic spinning back fist!

Bell shakes his hands off, looking to compose himself, but takes a jab to the jaw whilst he does it.

Markov is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.
Bell is taking a break and basically stalling. The referee will not allow him to do that for long.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Bell's corner are shouting for him to control the position and he seems happy to oblige.

My spies in Crapollas Gym inform me that Bell has been getting involved in the gym's BJJ sparring sessions. Let's see whether that pays dividends!

Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.

That was a close round. You could make an argument for either fighter but I would give it to Alexey Markov.
Well I reckon that's a shut out for Markov, winning every round. Will the judges agree? They are the ones who matter, even if they are often depressingly incompetent. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
