PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Xun Zemin (ranked 1484 p4p, 192 weight class) and Mark Motts (ranked 2907 p4p, 351 weight class). Mark Motts told me before the fight that he's been watching a lot of DVDs so let's see if that helps him in this one! I can't wait to find out!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 6 - 0 - 0, fighting out of The Island, Xun Zemin!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 2 - 0 - 0, fighting out of The Island, Mark Motts!

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Motts takes a shot to the body in his stride.
Zemin with a hook.

It looks like Mark Motts has been cut.
Motts tries to clinch up.
Motts tries to clinch there but Zemin circles away.
Motts wants to clinch.
Motts looks more muscular than last time we saw him. He must have been on the weights.
Motts walks into a left hand.
Motts moves in looking to clinch but Zemin pushes him off.
Zemin connects with a body shot that sends Motts's belly button to the back.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Motts tries to clinch but Zemin moves out of range.
Zemin connects with a jab.
Boom, another hit is landed. "You're gunna get knocked out" taunts Zemin, as that shot connected.
Motts is looking to take this fight into the clinch.

Zemin dips down and scores with a jab to the body.
Zemin scores with a hook.
Zemin lands with a good body shot.
Motts wants to clinch but Zemin slips to the side
and Zemin counters with a nice uppercut.
Zemin lands a vicious shot with the stealth of a sniper and the strength of a viper. Are vipers that strong? I can think of lots of things that are stronger than a viper - not many rhyme with sniper though.

Motts tries to clinch but Zemin is having none of it.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Zemin bobs and weaves and throws out a fast jab that snaps Motts's head backwards.
Zemin is really peppering his opponent's head with punches.

Zemin lands with a cross to side of his opponent's head.
Zemin swats away the attempt to clinch by Motts.
Zemin with a nice cross.
Zemin connects with a lovely right hand, straight down the pipe.
Zemin circles away from the clinch attempt
and Zemin counters with a crisp hook to the side of the head.
Zemin bobs and weaves and unloads with a good uppercut.
Zemin works his jab well there, keeping his opponent at a distance.

Motts is rocked!
Motts on the wrong end of a vicious looking body shot.
Motts is still on wobbly legs! Can Zemin finish him?
Motts tries to move into range but Zemin moves to the side and lands with a nice right hand.
and Zemin counters with a massive uppercut that badly hurts Motts! He's just covering up as Zemin starts to tee off till the referee steps in and stops the fight!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:57 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Xun Zemin!
Xun Zemin tried to hype himself up post fight but didn't word it too well and it ended up with him sounding like a bit of a tool.
