PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a super heavyweight MMA rules bout between Zeta Knox (ranked 1259 p4p, 58 weight class) and Bob Snapp (ranked 839 p4p, 40 weight class). Knox comes into the arena with Five Finger Death Punch | Bad Company blaring out of the sound system. These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the super heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 8 - 7 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Zeta Knox!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 14 - 10 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Bob Snapp!
The judges for this bout are John Roberts, Jonathan Paton and Franklyn Lucas.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Snapp looks to score with a combo but nothing lands.
Snapp misses with a looping left.
Knox looks to have improved his striking defense since last time we saw him fight.
Snapp misses with a jab to the body
and Knox counters with a shot to the ribs. That looked like it hurt.
Knox throws a hook but Snapp blocks it.
Snapp misses with an uppercut. Knox saw that one coming.
Snapp misses with a telegraphed body shot
and Snapp takes a counter punch right on the button for his troubles.


It looks like Bob Snapp has been cut.
Knox swings wildly with a right hand that was never going to find it's target.
Snapp will need to tighten up his combinations if he doesn't want to gas himself out, swinging at thin air.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Snapp looks to land a combination but Knox avoids it well.
Knox is moving around nicely and scores here with a single head shot.
Snapp misses with a hook.
Knox swung with a counter right hand that didn't connect.

Donk. Snapp catches Knox right on the button with a cross.

That has opened up Bob Snapp's cut even more.
Knox slips a straight right by Snapp.
Snapp takes a swing at Knox's ribcage but misses.
Snapp throws out a loose jab but Knox uses good head movement to avoid it.
Snapp displays some good footwork, moving neatly out of range as Knox throws out the jab.
Snapp has done a lot of speed work in the buildup to this fight.
Snapp looks to score with a jab to the body but Knox is just out of range.

Knox avoids a punch combination nicely.

Snapp steps to the side to avoid the strikes from Knox.
Knox misses with a hook. Snapp ducked under it nicely.
Snapp scores with a jab to the head.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Snapp throws a lazy uppercut
and Knox counters with a good right hand that lands right on the jaw.
Snapp misses with a wild body shot.
Snapp misses with a hook. Knox ducked under it nicely.
Snapp moves away from the strike by Knox.
Snapp rushes in with a sloppy looking punch
and Knox counters with a nice body shot.
Boom, another hit is landed. "You're gunna get knocked out" taunts Snapp, as that shot connected.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Knox slips under a jab.
Snapp rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but Knox moves out of range and avoids them all easily.
Knox tries to counter by clinching up but Snapp breaks away and moves out of range.
Snapp listening to his corner there, landing a nice uppercut.
Knox throws an ugly left hook that misses
and Snapp counters with a three punch combination, finished off with a leg kick. Nice work.
Snapp misses with a wild combination.
Snapp throws a body shot but no joy.
Snapp takes a swing at Knox's ribcage but misses.
No joy there for Snapp, who threw a few shots but didn't land.
Knox clobbers Snapp with an overhand right that has the crowd gasping. That made a horrendous noise.


The cut above Bob Snapp's eye is starting to cause him problems now.
Snapp misses with a series of wild punches.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
Knox looks to score with a combo but nothing lands.
Knox slips in close and lands a nice hook before moving back out of range.


Bob Snapp's cut is absolute horrible now. This looks like something out of a horror film with blood covering both fighters.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
Snapp misses with a straight left.
Knox misses with a lunging right hand
and Snapp counters with a lovely straight right hand!
Knox walks into a left hand.
Knox avoids a lazy jab quite easily.
A cross from Snapp lands.
Knox uses some good footwork to avoid the body shot by Snapp.
A little feinted left hand from Knox on the counter but he doesn't commit to it.
Knox steps to the side to avoid the strikes from Snapp.
Knox throws a hook but Snapp blocks it.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Bob Snapp dominated that round.
The cut man is working on Bob Snapp's cut.
The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action.


Snapp throws a jab but it's blocked by Knox.
Snapp catches Knox with a nice straight right. He seems pissed - ooooh, it's on now! On like donkey kong!

A jab-cross combination lands for Knox and sends Snapp crashing to the mat! Knox follows him down to the mat - Snapp regains half guard but he's not out of trouble yet!

We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Snapp can do anything to dispel that myth.
Knox's ground tactics aren't going to win him many fans. Let's hope he's got fireworks for us if he gets back to his feet because he's not doing much on the ground.

Knox stops Snapp from getting back to his feet.
Snapp is trying to control but can't.
Neither fighter is being very active at the moment, with Knox in particular looking to stall.
The referee looks like he's ready to step in and stand the fighters back up.

The ref stands the fighters back up due to a lack of activity.
Snapp's jab looks to have found its range, popping Knox under the eye.
Knox scores with a nice head shot.

The referee calls the doctor in to look at Bob Snapp's cut. Oh no, the doctor has called an end to the bout!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:57 of round 2, we have a winner by way of TKO (Cut). Zeta Knox!
An out of breath Zeta Knox thanked his loyal fans in his post fight interview, giving them credit for his success over the course of his career.
The defeated Bob Snapp had this to say: 'I will receive no damage to my body that will be long-lasting for a small, insignificant amount of cash. I'm getting paid well underneath what a professional boxer would. So in no means ever will I sustain long-lasting damage for a small paycheck. Never will that happen.'.
