The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Sionis gets a clinch.

Carmo bobs and weaves into range and then changes levels and scores with a nice takedown into side control.

Carmo swings around for an armbar but Sionis sees it coming a mile off and turns beautifully into Carmo's guard.

Carmo escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Sionis gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Sionis got a little sloppy there for a moment and Carmo has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Sionis has managed to get both his arms back between Carmo's legs - danger averted.
Carmo is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move.

Carmo misses with a head shot. Sionis uses the momentum to regain guard.

A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Carmo accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand.

Sionis throws a sloppy head kick and Carmo moves out of range easily.
And Carmo tries to counter it with a takedown but Sionis pushes his down on his head and steps out.

The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena.
Carmo tries to land with a swinging hook to the body but Sionis was well out of range. Poor timing from Carmo.
Carmo scores with a reasonable looking shot to the body. Sionis doesn't seem bothered though.
Sionis is breathing heavily.
Carmo cracks Sionis with a right hand to the side of the head.

It looks like Roman Sionis has been cut.
Carmo stalks Sionis and leaps in with a furious combination of punches. Uppercuts and crosses smash into Sionis's face. Sionis staggers backwards, shaken.
Roman Sionis seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Carmo lands with a shot to the body.
Carmo lands with a nice body punch.

Carmo throws the overhand right but ducks down into a quick takedown attempt. Sionis was covering up waiting for the punch and Carmo finishes the takedown easily into guard.

Carmo is frustrating his opponent with some stalling tactics from top position.

Sionis moves in looking to clinch but Carmo pushes him off.

Sionis throws a head kick but Carmo moves out of range.
Carmo lands an uppercut out of nowhere! Sionis falls backwards - clearly groggy! Carmo dives in and finishes the fight with more strikes for a TKO finish!

A relieved looking Lucio Francisco Carmo thanked the fans for their support and gave the usual line about them being amazing. They seemed to believe that he actually meant it.
