PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a bantamweight MMA rules bout between Edgy Brah (ranked 1397 p4p, 69 weight class) and Andre Clay (ranked 2968 p4p, 133 weight class). Brah's entrance music is Dropped by Smoke Serpent. A fine choice. Clay has chosen Believe as his entrance music. I can't wait for this one - let's get the fighter introductions out of the way and get this one started!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the bantamweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 13 - 8 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Edgy Brah!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 15 - 11 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Andre Clay!
The judges for this bout are Marco Blurström, Tarja Halkonen and Roosa Järviläinen.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Brah thumps Clay with a low kick.

Clay looks for a takedown. He's got it. We're now in half guard.

Brah is defending against the submission attempts here by Clay.

Brah looking for submissions from an awkward position here.
Clay moves into full mount! Brah won't be happy about that!

We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Brah really trying hard to get back to half guard here.
Clay can't quite control the action as he would like just now, as Brah is looking to escape.
Brah keeping his composure momentarily, calmly looking to get back to half guard.
Brah sneaks a leg back under and regains half guard and is working straight away to try and get back to guard. He hasn't managed just yet though.

Clay seems to be working for a kimura but Brah defends the submission attempt.
Brah is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though.

Brah is refusing to be controlled, as Clay sits in half guard.

Brah avoiding damage under a succession of punches from Clay.
Clay working over Brah with some ground and pound. Brah looks like he wants out of this position, which is understandable.
Brah is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though.
The fighters are trapped in the ropes so we're going to have a reposition here. The ref calls for a break and repositions the fighters in the center of the ring.

Clay is thinking about going for an arm triangle but he can't free his leg.
Brah moves into full guard.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Andre Clay dominated that round.
The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action.


Brah misses with a straight right.
A bone on bone clash there as Clay blocks the leg kick.
Clay moves away from the strike by Brah.
Brah looks to land a right hand but Clay moved out of range.
Brah rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but Clay moves out of range and avoids them all easily.
Clay showing good head movement there, avoiding the strikes from Brah.
Brah tries to score with an inside leg kick but telegraphs it and Clay is able to avoid easily.
Brah throws an off balance right hand
and Clay counters with a lovely straight right hand!

We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Brah closes the distance and after a bit of a stuggle, scores a takedown into Clay's guard.
Clay trying to keep a closed guard but Brah is proving a slippery customer.
Clay wants to control the position but Brah says "no thanks buddy" and passes to half guard.

Brah tries to pass the half guard into mount. Clay knows what he's doing though and prevents the attempt.

Brah is working for a submission of some sort.
Clay gets back to full guard.
Brah chips away with some ground and pound.
Clay trying to keep a closed guard but Brah is proving a slippery customer.
Clay keeping moving, preventing Brah from controlling successfully.

The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so.

Brah is going to have to think about doing something other than just controlling because Clay is managing to avoid having the position dictated to him.
Clay is trying to control the position from the bottom.
The referee is pacing around the two fighters - he looks like he's thinking about a standup.
Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out!
Brah preventing the sweep.

The referee has decided to stand the fighters back up, so we'll restart on the feet.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Edgy Brah dominated that second round.
The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action! This is the final round!


Brah uses good head movement to avoid the hook from Clay.
Clay staying out of range there.
Clay thows a left - swing and a miss!
Brah misses with a low kick as Clay jumps back.
Edgy Brah seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Clay moves out of range of the strikes.
A jab from Clay misses.
Brah swings widly with a right hand
and Clay counters with a crisp hook to the side of the head.
Clay avoids a kick to the body.
Clay looks to throw the jab but Brah is out of range.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Brah misses with an uppercut
and Clay counters with a straight right hand.
Brah looks to have improved his striking defense since last time we saw him fight.
Brah swings for the body but Clay moves out of range.
Brah throws a lazy right hand but Clay sees it coming a mile off and sidesteps it easily.
Clay throws an overhand right that lands on Brah's shoulder, as Brah tries to avoid the shot.
Brah throws a one two combo.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Brah scores with a reasonable looking shot to the body. Clay doesn't seem bothered though.
Brah misses with a lunging right hand
and Brah takes a counter punch right on the button for his troubles.
Brah gets his head snapped back by a nice shot there.
Brah scores with a sloppy punch to the body. Not much technique there but it did the business.
A lazy left from Brah finds it's target.
Brah paws at his opponent with the jab and then lunges in with a straight, right on the button.
Clay might want to mix his strikes up a bit more. He's just going for head shots at the moment and that can become a bit predictable.
Clay shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Brah but Brah pushes him off and we're back to square one.
Clay ducks under a wild hook from Brah.
Clay throws out a loose jab but Brah uses good head movement to avoid it.
Brah fakes a jab and scores with a low kick.

We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!

Clay ducks under an overhand right and circles away with a smile on his face.
Clay fails in his attempt to clinch.
Brah lets the fists fly and connects with a left straight followed by a right hook.
Clay lands a head shot.
Brah misses with a right hand
and Brah takes a counter punch right on the button for his troubles.
Brah takes a punch right to his stomach. That took the wind out of him momentarily.
Clay misses the jab.
Clay misses with a body shot.
Brah misses with a hook to the body
and Clay counters with a straight right hand.
Edgy Brah has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here!
Clay connects with a body shot that sends Brah's belly button to the back.

And that's the end of the fight!
I would just about give that final round to Andre Clay.
I think Clay has won this one but let's see whether the judges agree with me. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
