The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Souza tries to drive through with a takedown attempt but Spasov defends well and Souza ends up having to push Spasov into the cage where they will battle it out in the clinch.

Spasov scores with a takedown into Souza's guard.

Spasov stands up and waves to Souza to follow him.
Spasov will have to do better than that with his takedown attempts.
Spasov closes the distance and lands a one-two.

Spasov gets in close and instigates a clinch.

Spasov stuffs the takedown attempt from Souza. Souza gets slowly back to his feet.
Spasov definitely looks more muscular than last time we saw him fight.
Souza is trying hard to land a takedown here. Spasov sprawls well and keeps this one on the feet.
Spasov went nuts there looking for a big combo counter but none of the flurry connected.
Spas Spasov has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Gilberto Da Souza.

Spasov dives in and scores a takedown into Souza's guard.

Spasov decides he's had enough of playing guard and decides to stand. Come on Souza, up you get!
Souza shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Spasov as he jumps to the side.

Spasov closes the distance and pushes Souza back into the cage.

Souza throws a head punch that misses.
Spasov works on Souza's body with a couple of short punches.

Spasov manages to break the clinch.
Nice takedown defense from Spasov. No joy for Souza on that attempt.
Spasov throws a combination but comes up with nothing but fresh air.
Souza with the counter takedown but Spasov avoids it easily.

Spasov shoots in and bounces Souza off the cage to secure the takedown into guard.

Spasov stands up from Souza's guard - Spasov perhaps looking for a knockout.
Spasov looks to land a combination. Souza sees it coming but can only parry a couple of the shots.

Spasov rushes Souza and pushes him back against the cage in a clinch.

Spasov breaks the clinch.

Souza gets tackled into the cage by Spasov. Spasov maintains the clinch.

Spasov has managed to pull guard. Let's see whether he can work an aggressive guard. It will also be interesting to see what tactics Souza uses from the top position.

Spasov is working from a closed guard but he's struggling to control his opponent.

Souza takes a punch to the jaw and another one to the bread basket.
Souza pulls out of a head kick attempt.
Souza tries to shoot in for a takedown. He's got hold of a leg but Spasov swivels and escapes.
Souza looks winded!
Spasov lands a two punch combo.

Souza is rocked!
Souza get stunned by a cross and takes another one on the button. Souza stumbles backwards and tries to bounce back off the cage but Spasov runs in and jumps on him with a leaping lead hook that puts him out! Wow, that was highlight reel stuff! Awesome finish!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 3:23 of round 1, we have a winner by way of KO (Punch). Spas Spasov!
A relieved looking Spas Spasov thanked the fans for their support and gave the usual line about them being amazing. They seemed to believe that he actually meant it.
