Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Sam Jetstrean (ranked 2067 p4p, 223 weight class) and Aaron Smith (ranked 2599 p4p, 257 weight class). Smith has chosen Lonely Train by Black Stone Cherry as his entrance music. These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Jetstrean takes a step towards his opponent and connects with a left hand, before circling away.

It looks like Aaron Smith has been cut.

A momentary lapse in concentration from Jetstrean enables Smith to shoot in and score with a neat double leg. Jetstrean manages to secure a closed guard as the fighters hit the mat.

Jetstrean pushes Smith off and gets back to his feet.
Smith avoids the body shot from Jetstrean.
Jetstrean has been working on his boxing with his coaches at Holding Cell in the buildup to the fight.
Nice shot lands for Jetstrean.
Jetstrean fakes high and swings low for a body shot but Smith manages to avoid it.
Jetstrean bobs and weaves well there to avoid the strikes.

Smith lands a pitter patter jab to the forehead of his opponent.
Jetstrean moves away from the strike by Smith.
Jetstrean tries a switch kick but it misses it's target.

Jetstrean lunges in with swinging rights and lefts but Smith circles away quickly and effectively.
Jetstrean slips a straight right by Smith.

Smith looks like he wants to counter punch here.
Jetstrean has his head slapped from side to side by a 3 punch combination. That must have hurt him.

Jetstrean tests Smith's chin there with a solid looking shot.
Jetstrean tries to close the distance and clinch up but Smith swats him away and circles back towards the center.
Jetstrean lands a high kick!
OH! Smith has been rocked by a huge right hand and is in deep trouble! Jetstrean smells blood and charges in for the finish! Jetstrean unloads a vicious overhand right and connects to the jaw of Smith sending him face first to the canvas! Unbelievable!

Sam Jetstrean decided to go for the less than humble approach in his post fight interview, telling everyone how he is going to conquer the world. The crowd seemed to like it when really that sort of approach could have gone either way.
Aaron Smith spoke after the fight, saying 'No one likes seeing their opponent's hand raised, but that just means that they were the better man today. My team at 3Band MMA and I will break down this match and make the proper changes for my next camp.'.
